Awards In Hand, The Social Network Filmmakers Heap Praise On Zuckerberg

One of the standout scenes at in The Social Network happens in the first five minutes of the movie. Erica Albright (Rooney Mara) is sitting in a bar with boyfriend Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) when she says the following to him:
You are probably going to be a very successful computer person. But you’re going to go through life thinking that girls don’t like you because you’re a nerd. And I… → Read More

Trent Reznor: Zuckerberg Should Not Be Mentioned In The Same Breath As Steve Jobs

As you may be aware, musician Trent Reznor wrote and recorded (along with Atticus Ross) the score for David Fincher’s new film, The Social Network — you know, the Facebook movie. Therefore, he must be an expert on Facebook and love the service, right? Well, not exactly. Okay, not at all.

In an interview with Drowned in Sound, Reznor talks candidly about his feelings about Facebook and social… → Read More

Preview Trent Reznor's Facebook Movie Soundtrack Tomorrow — Full Album Will Be $2.99 On Amazon

The upcoming Facebook movie, The Social Network, continues to perplex me. I’m still not sure how they got all that talent on board to make it (director David Fincher, writer Aaron Sorkin), nor can I believe that it sounds like it’s actually going to be good. One such early rave review was from musician Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails fame). Reznor is actually doing the score and soundtrack for… → Read More

Happiness In Slavery: NIN iPhone App Approved With No Changes

Well, apparently if you speak loudly enough on the web with enough swear words, Apple does listen. After initially rejecting an update to Nine Inch Nails’ iPhone app, Apple has relented and accepted it back into the store. So what did NIN do to change the app? Nothing. Apparently, Apple’s definition of “objectionable” changed.

NIN frontman Trent Reznor tweeted out the good news earlier and poked… → Read More

Like My Parents In 1994, Apple Finds NIN's The Downward Spiral Objectionable

Back in 1994, there was no album I wanted more than Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward Spiral. The problem was that I was 12 at the time, and the album carried the dreaded “Parental Advisory” sticker, which meant I couldn’t buy it at the store without my parents — and that wasn’t an option. You see, they (like most other parents) weren’t too fond of songs like “Closer,” on the album. You know the one. → Read More

Radiohead 'innovates' again, releases latest single in separate tracks for fan remixes

Radiohead wasn’t going to take upstart Trent Reznor’s sass much longer. The British band loved by everyone trying to look smart has made its third single off In Rainbows available as an instrument-by-instrument downloade—for remixing! Nobody wins anything for their troubles, except placement on the band’s site. The band calls these separate tracks “stems” and… → Read More

NIN's Trent Reznor calls out Radiohead for its so-so In Rainbows release

[photopress:ningetsit.jpg, full, center] As if you already didn’t know, Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails’ frontman, also “gets” it. “It” meaning that the music business, as we once knew it, died some time ago. Also, he thinks Radiohead’s In Rainbows was a stunt more than anything else. Reznor, in speaking with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, called out… → Read More

    Trent Reznor used OiNK

It’s no secret that OiNK was full of different people, ranging from teenagers in high school to accountants from Sweden. Now Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor himself is publicly admitting he used OiNK for pirating music. “I steal music too, I’m not gonna say I don’t” says Reznor. In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Reznor talks about how OiNK was the… → Read More

    Reznor ditches Universal

Much like Radiohead, Trent Reznor and his industrial metal sounds are leaving Universal for greener pastures. That’s right; Nine Inch Nails is no longer under the thumb of some jackass record label. Very exciting. Hello everyone. I’ve waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally free agent, free of any recording contract… → Read More
