The Tokyo Game Show ended yesterday with no big surprises. Here is a selection of some “remarkable” booth companions at this year’s show.

Let’s Tap’s key point is the controls. Users are not supposed to hold the Wiimote in their hands but to tap its surface to play the game. It’s a pity Sega didn’t let me try it out but at least I could take a short video at the Tokyo Game Show.

I am a huge Sega and Sonic fan. The new entry in the neverending series for the PS3 delivers more of the same gameplay-wise but at least it looks absolutely awesome.

Here is a video I shot featuring gameplay sequences from Little Big Planet for the PS3, the game Sony heavily promotes at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The game looked very interesting but I doubt it will turn into the system seller Sony obviously hopes it will become.

The company made a huge fuss about the game. I made a video at the TGS (see below) that shows the space Capcom dedicated to Resident Evil 5 alone at their (gigantic) booth.

This year’s Tokyo Game Show, which currently takes place in Chiba (1 hour east of Tokyo), is expected to be the biggest yet and it was actually quite crowded today already, at day one of the show (that ends Sunday).

Here are my first impressions:

1)
Microsoft makes a very strong showing this year. They have Tekken 6, Resident Evil 5, Streetfighter 4 and most importantly they have many cool RPGs like Last Remnant or Star Ocean. Their booth was surprisingly popular.

2)
There were too many sequels, but it seems this is a phenomenon that can be observed every year. In my opinion, the quality of the games was quite high overall even though I was missing some real surprises.

3)
Interest from abroad is huge. The Tokyo Game Show might be one of the exhibitions in Asia with the highest “gaijin factor”.

4)
My favorite games of the show are Resident Evil 5, Streetfighter 4, Last Remnant, Killzone 2 and King of Fighters 12.

One of my favorite games of this year’s Tokyo Game Show is Streetfighter 4, which made an equally great impression on the XBOX 360 and PS3.

Monster Hunter is a highly popular RPG brand in Japan so no wonder people lined up for hours at the Tokyo Game Show to play the third part of the series (I didn’t).

Capcom will release this game on the Wii but it’s undecided when. Watch a video of the game after the jump.

Everyone agrees that the Dragonball trailer looks pretty crappy, but at least Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World, a fighting game based on the famous Japanese anime/manga, looks pretty decent.

Namco Bandai promises the game, one of the biggest crowd pleasers today at the Tokyo Game Show, will hit stores worldwide on December 4th this year.

And I have no doubt that Resident Evil 5 (Biohazard 5) is THE game of the show. I played both the XBOX 360 and the PS3 version and both looked and felt fantastic. If I could choose I would prefer the XBOX 360 version because of the superior controls.
