Bag Week Review: The Targus Spruce EcoSmart

bagweek-bug

When I joined TechCrunch (and AOL, by association), I found myself swimming in company-issued bags. The standard-issue MacBook Pro came with a hefty Targus beater of a shoulder bag, and AOL saw fit to send me a Ogio backpack emblazoned with a giant purple AOL logo.

I shoved them both in a closet after a few days.

Instead, I lug around the Targus Spruce EcoSmart on a daily basis. It’s not… → Read More

Review: Targus File Share Cable for Mac

Guest review: John Ha I recently bought a Macbook to replace my aging Windows XP laptop. I figured that, like any new computer migration, I would load the applications I needed and then copy the data from my old laptop to the new one. I have a large USB thumb drive and a couple external hard drives, so no sweat – just use them to migrate everything. So when my brother told me he would lend… → Read More

Review: Targus USB Hub for Mac

Yeah, I know, it’s a USB hub. But this little guy from Targus is pretty neat. It’s geared towards the Mac crowd with its color scheme, but that shouldn’t deter Windows or Linux folk. → Read More

Skooba, Targus working on TSA-friendly gear bags

Anyone that’s traveled with their laptop knows what a pain in the ass security is because you’re required to take out your laptop when going through the x-ray machine. I despise it and I travel quite often and it’s slowly becoming the bane of my existence. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but I think we can all agree that it’s an annoying process. Targus and Skooba, among… → Read More

Targus Radius Line

MacBook sales have been skyrocketing since they launched, so it’s no wonder the accessory market for the little Apple is so vast and chock-full of crap that you could be blowing your cash on something that will inevitably disappoint you. That’s where Targus comes in and clears away some of the clutter. The latest line, Radius, encases both MacBooks and MacBook Pros in durable… → Read More

Targus DEFCON 1 More Flexible Than The Average Laptop Lock

The product’s name sounds a bit more threatening than the device actually is. The $24.99 Targus DEFCON 1 is in fact a retractable cable lock for notebooks. And while it does feature the protection of a galvanized steel cable and a resettable, 4-digit combination-lock that allows for more than 10,000 different codes, it will not authorize you to use nuclear weapons. A lock slot adapter lets… → Read More
