Street By 50 Headphones Review: Loud Enough For Everyone (Literally)

    Street By 50 Headphones

The Street by 50 headphones get the job done when it comes to sound quality and volume, but there are a few quirks that didn’t sit well with me.

When all is said and done, a decision to buy these headphones all comes down to how serious you are about music and how often you use a pair of cans. → Read More

50 Cent Debuts His New Cans: Street And Sync By 50 (Video)

While we weren’t “In Da Club”, the Candy Shop, or the Disco Inferno, 50 Cent himself made some time this morning to meet us in downtown Manhattan and show off his brand new line of headphones.

If you don’t already know, 50 originally tried to get the ball rolling in the audio biz with Sleek Audio earlier this year, until some licensing issues led him to become CEO of his own company, SMS Audio. This morning we were lucky enough to see the fruits of his labor in the form of two new sets of cans, Street by 50 (wired) and Sync by 50 (wireless).

50 also mentioned that he’d be at CES, so we’ll certainly be paying him a visit come January. In the meantime, let’s go over the deets on these new headphones. → Read More

Sync By 50 Headphones Leak Early, Appear To Be Appropriately Street

    SMS_3

50 Cent’s wireless headphones are finally nearing release and I just received multiple pics and a full spec sheet concerning the upcoming high-end model. Sync by 50 uses the now-popular unibody casing but features full on-board playback controls — something no other headphones can proclaim. Housed in each can is a 40mm driver, which is surrounded by a memory foam cushion. The 3.5mm wireless adapter is said to broadcast the signal 50 feet and somehow allow four simultaneous wireless connections through an unnamed wireless standard.

The spec sheet brags that the headphones features a professionally tuned digital EQ along with 16-bit lossless digital sound. The headset apparently charges through micro USB and ships with a wired mic cable (classy) and a hard-shell carrying case. However, the spec sheet doesn’t state the price or release date.

50 Cent To Serve As CEO Of His Own Headphone Company As SMS Audio Acquires KonoAudio

2011 Billboard Music Awards - Arrivals

Watch out, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent is ready to challenge Beats headphones with his own line of headphones. Curtis Jackson’s vast empire includes a headphone company, SMS Audio, which recently acquired KonoAudio for an undisclosed amount and is set to unveil a complete portfolio of products in the coming weeks.

Sounds sort of familiar, right? 50 Cent previously had a deal with Sleek Audio to produce and distribute a so-called wireless hybrid headphone system dubbed Sleek by 50. Sleek Audio even showed off the model at CES 2011, but that deal fell through last May. 50 Cent’s G-Unit Brands, Inc affiliate, SMS Audio, LLC, then picked up the baton and is now running towards the release with at least three headphones in tow. → Read More
