“Beaterator’s gonna change the game, the same way I came in and changed the game.” Modest words from hip-hop producer Timbaland, but when you’ve produced as many hits as he has, well, I think you’ve earned the right to be a little arrogant. The game, if you can even call it that—it’s more like a mini version of Ableton Live —comes out for the PSP and PSN next month, on September… → Read More
Things are looking up today or down depending on where you live. GI has confirmed with Nintendo that the Wii will see an increase in price in the UK from 180 GBP to about 200 GBP. Why is this happening to our brethren across the pond you might ask? It’s simple, really. The state of the economy worldwide is pretty rank and the pound is depreciating at a rate, which Nintendo does not feel… → Read More

I wasn’t aware of this until now, but there was an actual Midnight Club in Tokyo that was formed in 1985. The street racing gang would play along on the Bayshore Route of the Shuto Expressway between Tokyo and Yokohama. I bring this all up because Midnight Club: LA is coming soon and with it is a promotion to give away 40 pairs of custom MC: LA Jordan brand kicks. The 1987 Air Jordan II inspired… → Read More
Flickr’d VG247 seems to have the inside scoop that Rockstar will release DLC for GTA IV sometime in January or February. There are mixed signals as to when the content will arrive since MS claims the “first episodes” will be out in “autumn” while T2 says it will arrive in their Q1, which is November to January. We’ll have to wait this one out. → Read More
Having never been a huge driving game fan, I must say I’m looking forward to the latest Midnight Club title. As you all know, I had the privilege of playing this game a few weeks back and it’s pretty fun. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the new features they’ve added. → Read More

Here we go, again. Looks like Rockstar Games could be in some hot water after an 18-year-old Thai teen confessed to robbing and murdering a cab driver because he wanted to see if it was as easy in real life as it was in the game. The miscreant said he didn’t intend on killing the man, but that he stabbed him to death once he started fighting back. As a result of this incident that took place… → Read More

Word on the street has it that those wacky folks over at Rockstar Games are sending out promotional Grand Theft Auto IV metal bats, to encourage the gift giving aspects of the game. Popular Mechanics reported getting one the in the mail along with a press release saying “‘Tis the Season To Swing Big and Go GRAND.” We don’t think they actually mean going on a grand crime spree. But… → Read More
The NYT piece goes into great detail with quotes from random lawyers across the country and mostly just filler, but what you need to know is that only 2,676 angry citizens out of the eight plus million that purchased the game filed a complaint headed up by Seth R. Lesser and a few other lawyers. Lesser and his pack of wolves are seeking $1.3 million in compensation for their time and efforts while… → Read More
Soon after GTA IV launched it was rather apparent that all the bugs weren’t squashed for the PS3 and the only solution Rockstar could muster up was to re-install. Sometime today, if it hasn’t already happened, Sony and Rockstar will release a patch to help alleviate the stress being put on the servers. “reducing the loads on the servers at GameSpy and hopefully the completely… → Read More
EA’s current offer for Take-Two is set to expire on May 16 and it’s highly unlikely that EA will up the bid like T2 thinks it should. Yes, GTA IV sold more than $500 million globally making it one of the most profitable ‘entertainment’ events. If you recall, Halo 3 sold $400 million in the first week. Take-Two’s stock closed yesterday at $26.35, which is 61 cents higher than EA’s… → Read More
Brian over at Kotaku found this little ad by Target and I have to admit it’s pretty ingenious, but then again it’s pretty stupid. If I already owned GTA IV, what the hell would I be doing cruising around on Target’s site for? Nice try, Target. → Read More

You’ve been warned. ROMAN’S MISSIONS The… → Read More
GTA 4 Video (720p) – http://www.cgaming.com from Someone on Vimeo. Two years after it was announced and delayed, GTA IV launches tonight with little marketing and big dreams. It’s expected to sell 9 million copies at launch and make $400 million in the first week for Rockstar Games and Take-Two who is currently fending off EA in the hopes that GTA IV will up the ante. We’ve known for awhile now that GTA IV, when it hits, will have the ability to program the in-game radio with music purchased online. But now Amazon’s getting in on the action, allowing those who’ve bought in-game songs to transfer them to their iTunes, iPods, etc. What’s really great is the MP3s are DRM-free, meaning switching them to your device and desktops and steampunk… → Read More
EA is absolutely going apesh*t over Take-Two. In retaliation over Take-Two’s public rejection of EA, the software giant from Redwood Shores is fighting back. This whole scenario reminds me of your typical boy meets girl, boy comes on too strong, girl loses interest, boy plays with himself scenario. When boy, EA in this case, just needs to chill and act like a dick to girl, Take-Two, to keep… → Read More

Flickr’d Oh burn, EA. Take-Two’s board of directors have advised shareholders that they’re worth way more than the $26/share EA is willing to pony up. The press release is mostly a bunch of legal jargon, but it reveals the obvious that others are willing to compete with EA. There could also be a merger between Take-Two and EA or a third party. A few reasons why the BoD is rejecting… → Read More
