Novatel Wireless To Acquire Enfora For Up To $70 Million

Wireless broadband solutions provider Novatel Wireless has agreed to acquire Enfora, a privately-held provider of wireless asset-management solutions and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, for approximately $64.5 million in cash. The purchase price includes the pay down of all debt.

Virgin Mobile USA offers Broadband2Go service with no contract

Using Sprint’s EVDO Rev. A network, Virgin Mobile USA announced today the launch of their wireless broadband service, Broadband2Go. Novatel intros ‘MiFi’ mobile broadband router

Novatel might be on to something with its MiFi device. It’s basically a rechargeable, portable wireless router that ingests mobile data signals and spits them back out as standard Wi-Fi. The company is calling the technology an “Intelligent Mobile Hotspot,” in case you were longing for some industry jargon. Hands on: Novatel Ovation USB760 modem for Verizon Wireless

Novatel’s latest USB modem, Ovation MC760 Micro, has arrived at the CrunchGear office and it sure is tiny. It will be available from Verizon Wireless starting December 1st. It’s been redubbed the USB760 Modem for VZW and promises an average of 600 kbps to 1.4 mbps down and 500-800kbps up. The price for this dandy is $100 after a MIR and two-year contract. Sprint updates drivers for Mac OS X

I sure hope this works because I haven’t been able to use one of my Sprint dongles for months. Sprint has updated their drivers for Novatel EV-DO Rev. A devices (S720, U720, EX720 and U727) to play nice with Leopard and its WWAN framework. Sprint is even allowing your dongles to be used as GPS devices free of charge. High five, Sprint. Besides the AT&T Duo, I received the latest USB dongle from Novatel for Sprint’s wicked fast EV-DO Rev A. network. The U727′s most notable features are the microSD slot and GPS. Sprint U720 Brings EV-DO Rev. A to USB

You may or may not remember the Novatel EV-DO Rev. A USB dongle from Sprint that Mr. Hickey reported on way back in Octubre.
