Victory For Nintendo As R4 Cards Made Illegal In The UK

The importation, sale, or advertising of the R4 card, sometimes (often?) used to pirate Nintendo DS games, is now illegal in the UK. Has Nintendo ridden the success of the Wii, DS as far as possible?

Has Nintendo finally exhausted all the momentum out of the Wii and DS? DeutcheBank seems to think so, which earlier today downgraded its rating of the Japanese super-happy-fun company to “sell.” The logic is pretty simple: odds are this is as good as it gets for Nintendo, so investors would do well to cash out now, and collect whatever profit it is they’ve accrued over the past few years. → Read More

July NPD numbers are here: Once again, PS3 outsells Xbox 360

The July NPD numbers have come out, and the PS3 continued its fine June performance, once again topping the Xbox 360 in units sold. Sony sold 224,000 PS3s to Microsoft’s 204,000. Meanwhile, the Wii continues to be in a league of its own, with Nintendo selling 550,000 units. The DS tops them all, of course with 608,000 units sold.
