But if the thought of taking the real live version of yourself and making it into a Mii for the Nintendo Wii and then making it into a sculpture sounds intriguing to you AND you have $75 plus three to four weeks to wait around, then this, my friend, is for you.

Web site MiiSculptures.com takes a photo of your Mii character and turns it into a sculpture. It costs $75 and takes three to four weeks. They’ll also do wedding cake toppers, too, which appear to be a little bit bigger and cost $140. Ask your girlfriend if she’d be cool with Mii wedding cake toppers and if she says yes, propose immediately.

An Australian company just released software that acts as your online doppelganger. Called MyCybertwin, the software serves as a go-between between friends, customers, well wishers, etc. and your online personality. In other words, it’s a programmable avatar (God, that word bothers me so) that people can interact with. For example, you may be AFK, but your cybertwin is always online. So your friends ping the cybertwin, “Dude, when are we supposed to come over tonight?” Depending on how you programmed the software, the cybertwin will respond in ways like, “Never, drop dead” or “Whenever you want, pal.”

The bot has five different basic personalities and its (read: your) personality is further fleshed out by feeding it different information. (“Do you believe in affirmative action?” for example.) Kinda strange, this. It’s bad enough that I spend all day online as it is, but I don’t know if I want a virtual me (but not Mii) representing my estate when I die.

Who says the Wii isn’t the most popular gaming console right now? The Wii was once again the most sold and sought after console in February and now, apparently, Mii’s are big business. Maybe I’m a far superior graphic artist than David Merrill, but I created my Mii in just a few minutes and it looks fantastic. David Merrill is possibly incompetent and/or has no thumbs because he was unable to create a Mii and outsourced it to Mii Station. For a mere $5 you can have someone else create a “Mii your friends will actually recognize.” If you’re the creative type and obsessed with the Wii and its Mii cronies then jump on the bandwagon and make a few bucks.

Apparently, people are getting really into their Nintendo Mii creations lately. So much, that someone has released Mii Transfer X 0.1, a Mii-sharing tool that works on OS X. Basically, it lets you copy your Mii to your Mac so you can share it on the internets with other dorks. Lovely. At least the source code is available and you can also use the Wiimote with it.

Why people are sharing their Miis though? Sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Friendster let you create a profile and have friends and allow people see the real you. Maybe some people (::cough:: Wii fanboys) just don’t have enough social aptitude and personal confidence.
