As the video card wars continue, the as of yet unreleased AMD Radeon HD 6870 looks to be a serious weapon. How do we know? Well, the Chinese website PCinLife.com managed to get a benchmark showing some very interesting information about the new card. A 3DMark score of 11,500 is about 2,500 more then the previous high end card, the Nvidia GTX 480 and the HD 5870. This reflects what appears to be a… → Read More
The German magazine that leaked the D3100 info also spilled on two of the new Coolpix models. The Coolpix S1100pj apparently will have a projector, touchscreen, remote control, and “several other improvements”. The European market will pay about €350. The Coolpix S5100 is a 12 megapixel, 28-140mm point and shoot, and will sell for about €170 on the other side of the Atlantic. Not… → Read More
Looks like we get a peek at an unannounced update to the MacBook a little bit early. The update (showing up on the label as MacBook7,1) has the same CPU and GPU as the entry level MacBook Pro, but assuming Apple keeps the pricing the same, it should be available for $999. → Read More
Oops! Looks like someone spilled the news about HP’s new Mini 210 netbook. The new netbook (if the site is to be believed) will be running the new Intel N455 chipset, the successor to the N450. The N455 runs at 1.55GHz, and is expected to support the newer DDR3 RAM. → Read More
Uh oh! Sounds like someone is going to be in trouble. The word is out on the probable spec and pricing on the HP Slate, and HP is definitely aware of the iPad. Obviously an internal document, it’s very interesting to see exactly what HP considers a threat, and what they consider to be an advantage. → Read More
Oops! Looks like someone accident let some information out early. AMDs “Thuban” processors will be out next month, and there wasn’t a whole lot of information out there until recently. Turns out that somebody talked. Well, at least someone’s BIOS talked. → Read More
Guess someone talked, because the info on the new Panasonic G2 and G10′s are out early. While there is a whole long list of details on everything for AF lock to Color temperature, let’s just concentrate on the big news, shall we? → Read More
Since the Pixi has been announced, there’s been much curiosity about how it’s going to be different from the Pre. Looks like we’re finally getting some (leaked) information on what exactly is going to be inside. → Read More
Hold on tight kids, there’s another Google-powered HTC phone coming. Looking at the screen shot, it’s going to be called the HTC Desire 6200, and it’ll be specifically listed as a Google product. There’s not a whole lot more information available, other than this leak, which appears to have come from a Costco employee. We’ll keep you informed as more news becomes… → Read More
We always knew that Nikon was a leaking ship, adrift in the digital camera sea, but this latest leak proves it. Why bother with embargos and NDAs when most of the info leaks out early anyway. First, it was the D5000, then the D300s and now all these Coolpix cameras that aren’t official yet. This is what we know so far though. → Read More
The blokes over at Joystiq just received two potential cover art samples for Rock Band 2. A survey conducted by Listen Research appears to be the venue from which these scans were obtained. Participants in the survey were asked the following questions. * Indicate which of the two covers below would attract you more if you were shopping for a new game in a store. * Indicate which game box cover you… → Read More
There isn’t anything new revealed in the manual pages that Hiptop3 managed to get a hold of for the upcoming Gekko aka Aspen Sidekick, but here it is anyway. Photos taken with the 2-megapixel camera can be stored on the device or microSD and videos (.3GP format) can only be stored on external memory. Nothing exciting. → Read More
http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/x56kbp Video switched. Real gameplay in this one after about a minute. Don’t ask me where it came from, but here is a little splash of GTA action. Box shots, intro/gameplay video, and the last page of a review scanned from the Xbox 360 World review. Excellent. I figured the sources probably did not want credit (given the circumstances), but if you are sourced… → Read More
We don’t know too much, but apparently this is the Shadow 2 from HTC that will launch with T-Mobile some time in the fall. TmoNews tells us this will have MyFaves. Wait a second. Don’t all the new T-Mo phones have MyFaves? Oh wow, breaking news, but I digress. It’s also purported to have Hotspot@Home service which is nice. No word on whether it will be 3G, but let’s all… → Read More
This reminds me of old times where you’d have a sheisty, inaccurate, hand-drawn map of say Hyrule crammed into the tiny instruction booklet. Some enterprising fellow uploaded some pics and promptly removed them, but not before they made it to the tips inbox at Kotaku. They’ve got it all nice and gallery-ed up so take a look. The town itself looks interesting, and is obviously divided… → Read More
The Dutch iTunes store is showing iPod Touches starting at 199 Euros, 80 less than the normal price everywhere else. Honest mistake or catastrophic leak? Rumors of $100 price drops were going around, but 80 Euros is even more than that. That’s like a thousand dollars off, the way things are now. Hints at iPod Touch price drop? [MacRumors] → Read More
We won’t know if this is legitimate until Biggs touches down in Barcelona for 3GSM or whatever it’s being called now, but a Portuguese site supposedly has WinMo 6.1 at their disposal. Other than being a bit snappier, it also boasts a zoom function on IE that lets you, that’s right, zoom in on a particular section like you would on Opera or Safari on the iPhone. A few other things… → Read More
From the folks who brought you the K20D and K200D, we have the latest in leaked specs for Nikon’s upcoming D40x replacement, the D60. And if this is all accurate, it’s a bit of a letdown, considering the magnitude of the new Rebel’s updates and the hotness of Pentax’s newer K’s. The added megapixels on the D60 are welcome (up to 10.2), and the sensor cleaner/dust… → Read More
A great album, but it leaked a whole three months before its release date You’ve got to peep this article on this small blog. It’s a great write-up on how CDs get leaked months or weeks before their release and the impact it has on the music industry and fans alike. Sometimes leaks work in a positive way though, like when Nine Inch Nails left USB drives in venue bathrooms for fans to… → Read More
