I’ll just say it. Everything is better with a digital picture frame. If someone put a digital picture frame in a toaster, I would buy three. So with that in mind, imagine my excitement when I saw this Insignia alarm clock with built-in digital picture frame. I know, right? Awesome. </sarcasm> → Read More

The $299 Internet-Connected GPS from Best Buy’s “Insignia” house brand features a cool built-in cellular connection, allowing you to harness the power of Google to find stores, restaurants, cheap gas, and more while on the go. However, the lackluster UI and relatively high price tag hold back an otherwise awesome combination of GPS and data services. → Read More

Everyone loves coupons and this Best Buy house brand Blu-ray player comes with $100 worth that can be redeemed for Disney, Touchstone, and Miramax Blu-ray titles. Details are a bit sketchy and there isn’t any word about if they can be redeemed immediately or how much they are worth, but the deal might be worthwhile for families - especially with the animated classics coming out on Blu-ray soon. Insignia, Best Buy’s house brand, is launching two GPS units that come with cellular connectivity built-in – somewhat like the Dash GPS. The notable difference is that these two GPS units use Google Local search instead Yahoo Local search. We won’t ruin this dudes entire post but let’s just say, it sounds like a house brand product to us. Satellite lock was very slow on a rainy day; I got a couple of miles down the road before it locked. Local search result lists give the distance to the destination, but not the direction. Cellular reception with the Insignia has been spotty so far, though there seems to be some improvement following a firmware upgrade from 1.01 to 1.3. → Read More

After somehow destroying my 20-inch LCD TV in a cross-country move, I needed to face down the task of replacing it. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money and I didn’t need a huge TV but I did want something a little bigger than 20 inches. This TV has been a great replacement. There’s a built-in HD tuner, two HDMI connections, two component inputs, two composite inputs, VGA connection, and an S-Video hookup. The picture is very nice, surprisingly nice for a sub-$400 TV. The regular price is $549 but it’s been on sale quite a bit since it’s a Best Buy brand — it’s been as low as $379, as referenced in an earlier CrunchDeal. If you’re looking for a great TV for a bedroom or den, this is an outstanding, inexpensive option. Insignia® – 26" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV [BestBuy.com] → Read More
http://progressive.playstream.com/playstream/progressive/flashplayers/FLVPlayer.swf I own this TV. When I bought it I thought it was a steal at $399. It’s now $379. Regular price is $549. The deal ends Wednesday so if you’re in the market for a good TV, this is it. Best Buy’s Insignia brand TVs are made by LG, from what I’ve heard. Enjoy! Insignia’s newest PMP is bursting at the screws with tons of features. The most notable is the addition of Bluetooth for compatibility with wireless headphones. If you like to watch video’s on your PMP then the 2.2-inch LCD should do the job quite nicely. If you’d rather listen to Opie and Anthony on the radio then I’m sure the 20 FM presets will suffice. The internal 4GB flash storage is nice and the microSD slot makes it even sweeter. Supported formats include WMA, MP3, PlaysForSure and if you actually buy music then the Best Buy Digital Music Store will have what you’re looking for. It’s a paltry 2.4 ounces and 0.6-inches thin.
