Initially unveiled way back in September of last year, the “Gametrak Freedom” motion sensing remote control for Xbox 360 and the PS3 has undergone a bit of a makeover and is currently on display at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco. → Read More
Microsoft announced today that they are making it easier to develop applications and games for the Xbox platform, with new tools in their XNA Game Studio kit. The updated kit includes better video and audio API’s, which will allow more games using the Avatars and LIVE Party content to be developed. Microsoft also stated that their improved Xbox 360 Development and Test Kit hardware will have improved debugging memory, which will allow developers to produce games faster and more effectively. → Read More
A very interesting gaming service called OnLive was introduced at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco last night. OnLive consists of a small browser plug-in that lets you play games online, with all the heavy lifting done by OnLive’s servers – effectively meaning that if the service can live up to its promises, you’d have yourself a gaming platform that never gets obsolete and can be played on lower-end hardware. → Read More
