Japan’s mobile carriers are currently releasing a number of interesting handsets, which are all part of their summer 2011 line-up. While smartphones, the iPhone and Android in particular, are taking over the Japanese market, there are still some cool feature phones coming out, too. → Read More
Another month, another special edition camera from Casio: this time it’s blue cartoon cat Doraemon (super-popular in Japan and many countries in Asia) that gets the Exilim treatment. Technically, the so-called Doraemon’s Bell×CASIO EXILIM EX-Z800 [JP] is nothing special, but it’s – as you can easily see – designed to be a hit with kids. → Read More
First it was Astro Boy last month, now its popular Dutch cartoon bunny miffy that gets a special edition Casio Exilim camera [JP]. Technically, the so-called miffy2011xEXILIM is based on the EXILIM EX-Z800 Casio introduced last summer, but it’s way cuter of course. → Read More
Casio in Japan today announced [JP] a new limited edition Casio Exilim camera, which was designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Astro Boy. The device is technically based on the EXILIM EX-S200 from last year (but it looks much cuter, of course). → Read More

Casio Japan unveiled [JP] two new Exilim point-and-shoot cameras today, the EX-Z450 and the EX-Z90. The main selling point of the devices is the ability to detect objects (not only human beings) and to then automatically set the focus and exposure area to give you high-quality pictures.
The EX-Z90 can be considered weaker than the Z450. It features a 12.1MP sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, 3x… → Read More
Lets get a few details out of the way first. The Casio Exilim is one of the most expensive Verizon phones available at $279 with a 2-year agreement. Only the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro cost more. Not only that, the Exilim is loaded with a dated OS and is rather bulky. The only selling point that this phone has is the 5.1MP camera, so that’s what I spent most of my time testing. I pitted… → Read More
Casio Japan announced a new point-and-shoot camera today [JP], the EXILIM Hi-ZOOM EX-H10. The 12.1MP camera is a follow up to the EX-V7 and EX-V8 the company released in 2007. It features an impressive 10xoptical zoom (wide-angle starting at 24mm) and can shoot 1,000 images on a single battery charge. According to Casio, this is three times more than other cameras in this class have to offer. → Read More
I use a DSLR and I love it, and while I appreciate what point-and-shoots do, I’ve never really wanted one. This is partly due to the superior picture-taking ability of a DSLR, but mostly it’s other cameras’ unimaginative feature lists. The latest cameras boast huge numbers of features which I would never use (smile shutter? more megapixels on a tiny sensor?), and stubbornly… → Read More
We’ve got one of Casio’s Exilim FC-100s for review right now, and of course the first thing we had to do was test out its vaunted super slow motion functionality. I was going to save this little reel for the review, but it was too fun not to share. → Read More
Casio is adding to its Z-series of EXILIM cameras with the EX-Z29, due out in April for $149. The new model will improve over the currently-available Z9 by bumping the megapixel count from eight to ten and by slightly increasing the LCD size from 2.6 to 2.7 inches. → Read More

Those of you who need to take 40 photos per second and record movies at 1000fps should be thankful to Casio. The company’s newest camera, the Exilim EX-FH20, does just that, with its 9.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and 26-520mm equivalent zoom lens. Fancy stuff. And while it can take 40 photos per second in burst mode, these photos aren’t the full 9.1 megapixels, but only 7.1 megapixels. → Read More
The FCC has approved the latest product of the Hitachi, Casio partnership; an Exilim-branded 8-megapixel camera phone. Read more → Read More

How cool is this? The Casio Exilim EX-F1 is a freak camera to be sure, but if they’re going to continue expanding its capabilities with stuff like this, it’s going to be the most popular freak on the block. You could already turn back the clock with the EX-F1 in certain modes by holding down the button halfway, but now you can put on a mode that will recapture the last five seconds of… → Read More
If you live in Korea, you can get a cell phone with a 5-megapixel camera. If you don’t live in Korea, you can’t. That’s just the way it is. Some things will never change. I have one of the old school Casio EXILIM cameras and I still use it to this day even though I bought it about 5 years ago. The EXILIMs have traditionally gotten dinged for having so-so photo quality but the… → Read More
The Exilim EX-S880 Casio introduced two new digital cameras in its popular Exilim line today. The EX-S880 and EX-Z77 both have all the great features normally found on an Exilim, like Best Shot technology, the new EXILIM Engine 2.0 image processor, and high-quality video capture. But these two cams also have the power of YouTube inside of them. The included YouTube Capture mode allows for the… → Read More

For the past year, I’ve spent time with numerous Casio digital cameras. The Exilim series has proven to be an excellent blend of both value and performance. A fantastic camera at a low price if you will. But camera after camera, Casio didn’t really do much to change the design of each model. At one point, the difference between a 10.1-megapixel camera and a 6-megapixel camera was… → Read More
