Amazon lists DJ Hero for $119 (including turntable)

I’m not sure how much faith we should put in these numbers, but here we go. Amazon has DJ Hero, of which I’m still deeply skeptical of, listed for $119.99. That includes the game and turntable. → Read More

Guitar Hero 5 slated for September launch

Activision has declared war against the most popular band of all freakin’ time. The fifth installment in the Guitar Hero franchise (aside from the band specific titles) goes on sale September 1st, which is eight days before The Beatles: Rock Band hits store shelves. Oh boy! If I were a betting man, I’d say the The Beatles are going to sweep this round. → Read More

CrunchArcade Preview: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game

I’m still pissed off that Bay gave Optimus moving robotic lips in the first film, but the overall awesomeness of seeing CGI Transformers 20+ years after the fact allows me to tolerate such insubordination. I never played the first game based on the movie, though. Activision’s title sold over a million copies, but received less than desirable reviews from jerks like me. Sometimes you just need… → Read More

Fans of 1960s mopefolk rejoice! Activision is releasing a new version of Guitar Hero featuring Leonard Cohen’s entire oeuvre including Suzanne, Bird on the Wire, and that one song that you listened to over and over again on your roommate’s turntable before he moved out and left you stuck with a $700 rent until you brought in that weird frat kid who ate Ramen and played Madden all day until you… → Read More

Activision working to resolve Guitar Hero World Tour drum sensitivity issue

User reviews of Guitar Hero World Tour aren’t so hot—it’s averaging a 5.8 on Metacritic (but nets an 87 based on “professional” reviews). One reason for the low score is this weird drum kit sensitivity issue that a bunch of people are reporting. Activision, the game’s publisher, says the problem only affects an early run of drums. Be that as it may, Activision says it… → Read More

It's Nintendo's fault you're not playing GoldenEye on Xbox Live Arcade

How the game looks on the Xbox 360 Wanna know why we’re still not playing GoldenEye on Xbox Live Arcade? Blame Nintendo. It goes like this: Rare has already developed the game, and all it’s doing is waiting for the go-ahead from, yes, Nintendo. There’s four parties involved in all of this: Rare (the original developer), Nintendo (the original publisher), Microsoft (which bought… → Read More

Slash says Activision is making a Guitar Hero: Jimi Hendrix

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Slash let slip that Activision was working on a Jimi Hendrix edition of the popular game. Who’s excited for that? Slash also mentions that he’d like to see an AC/DC version because they’re the “ultimate guitar-driven band.” As the original guy do you feel more invested in the game? Well, having the Aerosmith guys do it was… → Read More

Yes, Virginia, Infinity Ward will be the developer of Call of Duty 6

Don’t worry, sports fans, Infinity Ward will be the developer of Call of Duty 6. Activision has finally confirmed as much, with the game currently scheduled to come out next year. Brett Ratner should be kicked in the balls for wanting to make a Guitar Hero movie

The general public enjoys Guitar Hero, Brett. They don’t want you butchering another pop culture icon like you did with the last X-Men movie, douchebag. “I love ‘Guitar Hero’ and I think it’s a part of pop culture. Call of Duty: World at War gameplay footage

http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=38818 Wait, what? A first-person shooter.. about World War II? That’s.. that’s incredible! Why has no one done this before? I’m still on the fence with this one. On one hand, Infinity Ward set the bar really high with Call of Duty 4, and I’m far beyond sick of WWII games.
