lg-onlive-google-tv

These days OnLive is probably known as much for its unexpected meltdown as it is for its promise to deliver streaming video games to the masses, but ever since the company reformed it seems to have returned to business as usual.

To wit: the folks behind the cloud gaming service have made good on an old promise to integrate OnLive with the Korean company’s new line of Google-friendly G2 Smart… → Read More

Faced with a dire financial situation, OnLive has been sold to another company that will do business under the name OnLive. Because the move is an “Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors,” wrote Jane Anderson, the new OnLive PR rep, “Unfortunately neither OnLive, Inc. shares nor OnLive staff could transfer under this type of transaction, but almost half of OnLive’s staff were given employment… → Read More

ouya-onlive_630x

The OUYA could change the gaming scene. The low price Android gaming set-top box has the makings of something great. But as the old saying goes, content is king and without killer titles, the OUYA will have a hard time attracting consumers and developers alike. Enter OnLive.

The two companies took to the interwebs this morning to announce OnLive will ship with OUYA. This means the little… → Read More

The $99 Vizio Co-Star Google TV Box Is Now Available To Pre-Order

vizio-co-star

Vizio pulled off a sort of coup with the Co-Star. This $99 Google TV box packs more features than Sony’s latest model and is half the price. Plus, I think the novel UI looks better than the standard Google TV interface. The box, which was announced last month, is now available for pre-order. It costs $99 and will ship August 14th. → Read More

E3 Rumor: Sony Partnering With Cloud Gaming Provider

mario-cloud-vectors_630053

According to a very short, very rumor-filled VG24/7 piece, Sony is looking at adding cloud-enabled gaming to the PlayStation line, presumably in the form of an Onlive or Gaikai partnership.

Given that we won’t see much new this year at E3 – aside for official Wii U availability and perhaps (just perhaps) whispers of next gen Sony and Microsoft consoles, this bit of news could carry the show. → Read More

OnLive Teams Up With GameSpot To Embed Game Demos In Reviews

play

Game reviews are always inadequate, in that while they can describe how it feels to control your guy, or how the level design is frustrating, you can only kind of get it. Video reviews help, but you can never be sure you and the reviewer are on the same page — more so than with books and movies, I’d say. OnLive and GameSpot are hoping to change that up a bit by adding instant game demos to… → Read More

Cloud gaming service OnLive has been getting better and better. We had a blast checking out the OnLive booth at E3 this year, and you better believe the service’s usage will have gone up since GameStop inadvertently gave OnLive a ton of great publicity yesterday.

OnLive Brings Proper Gaming To Tablets, HDTVs And We Go Hands-On At E3 2011

OnLive did E3 big this year. The remote gaming company launched a ton of new games, a universal controller, and displayed their tablet apps. In fact more than a few of our commenters disagreed with our dueling assertion that the Wii U and the Vita won E3 this year; they thought OnLive deserved our meaningless nod. That’s why we made sure we spent sometime at OnLive’s rocking E3 booth.

OnLive Has "No Agenda" To Take On Netflix

As OnLive has continued to grow and prove itself not to be an elaborate hoax, it has become clear that their streaming tech is seriously good. It was quite a while back when we first tried out OnLive, and got our first look at the “microconsole” and wireless controller.
