We have covered the one or the other Hello Kitty gadget in the past, but it’s been a while since the last notebook featuring the popular cartoon cat. But now Japan’s Mouse Computer is selling the so-called LuvBook S, [JP], an 11.6-inch laptop with Hello Kitty all over it. It has been co-developed with Hello Kitty maker Sanrio and luxury goods maker Swarovski.

Swarovski designed the body of the laptop (the Hello Kitty face and heart you see below is made of about 1,100 Swarovski stones):

Spec-wise, the LuvBook S features an 11.6-inch LCD with 1,366×768, an Intel Core i3-2330M CPU (2.20GHz), a 500GB HDD, 4GB memory, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, a 1.3MP web cam, a USB 3.0 slot, two USB 2.0 slots, an SD card interface, and an HDMI port. The LuvBook S runs on Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit/SP1).

The Yahoo Phone isn’t the only unusual handset Japanese mobile carrier SoftBank rolled out yesterday. SoftBank subscribers can soon lay their hands on another one, the 007SH KT [JP], which has two selling points: it’s designed like a clamshell feature phone (even though it runs on Android), and it has Hello Kitty written all over it.

Technically speaking, the 007SH KT is based on a model SoftBank has introduced back in May for the Japanese market. Produced by Sharp, the so-called AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID 007SH is being marketed as the world’s first flip phone running on Android (2.3).

The Hello Kitty version shares many of the (very impressive specs) of that model: waterproof body, 3.4-inch LCD touchscreen with 854×480 resolution, 0.7-inch OLED sub-display, 16MP CCD camera with 1,280×720 HD video recording, IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, digital TV tuner, e-wallet function, etc. etc.

For fans of the cartoon cat, SoftBank throws in menus and screens in Hello Kitty design, special icons for use in mails, a Hello Kitty calculator app, a Hello Kitty alarm clock, etc.

SoftBank plans to start shipping the 007SH KT in Japan next month.

Tokyo-based Japan Trend Shop, an online store selling unique gadgets and lifestyle products from Nippon, started listing something super-cute today: Hello Kitty-themed protective cases (the site is completely in English) for use with the iPhone 4.

The covers are officially licensed from Sanrio, the company behind the Hello Kitty brand, and available in four versions: Bad Dots, Candy Pop, All Gray, and Crazy Colors.

Each case is priced at $98.

Tokyo-based Regulus has just started selling the RDPF-7KIT [JP, PDF] in Japan, a super-cute Hello Kitty digital photo frame. The device comes with a 7-inch LCD with 800×480 resolution, 1W×2 speakers, and interfaces for SDHC/SD cards, USB drives, and Memory Sticks.

The frame is compatible to the following formats: JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, MP3, WMA, MPEG-1, MPEG-4, and Motion JPEG. More importantly, it features not only Hello Kitty on the body but also comes pre-installed with icons, a calendar, a watch and other content showing Hello Kitty.

The RDPF-7KIT is only available in Japan (where it costs $160, cute remote control included).

Popular cartoon cat Hello Kitty is getting another gadget treatment. This time, it’s a super-cute speaker dock for the iPod or iPhone, offered by a Japanese company called CAV [JP]. The dock is an update to a very similar model CAV started offering in August.

Buyers will get a 2.5W×2ch+6W speaker with 60Hz ~ 20kHz frequency response, “Surface Mounting Technology” and “Lossless Energy Amplification Technology” for 360° sound, and a remote control (it’s also possible to adjust the volume by touching Kitty’s ears).

CAV plans to start accepting pre-orders from Japanese customers in November 30 before shipping the dock in early December (price: $180). If you’re interested but live outside Japan, ask specialized online stores like The Japan Trend Shop, Geek Stuff 4 U or Rinkya to get one for you.

We’ve blogged about many Hello Kitty gadgets in the past, i.e. Hello Kitty camcorders, music players, cell phones or even TVs. And today, Japan-based IDEA started listing a new gadget on its online store [JP]: the Dancing Hello Kitty Speaker. Not too surprisingly, the design is very, very cute.

IDEA is offering a version in red and one in pink (for $74 each). A third version, Hello Kitty in black, will follow next month, carrying a $86 price tag (see below). The battery-powered speaker weighs 1.1kg and can be used with any kind of music players, including the iPod.

Hello Kitty Online, which is in private beta, is the official massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) of Sanrio’s Hello Kitty brand. Hello Kitty Online combines elements of social networking, including blogs, video sharing and email, as well as gaming components such as customizable avatars, guilds, pets and crafting.

Specifically, the game will offer an Item Mall, where users can buy virtual-goods through purchased Sanrio Cash Points or earned Sanrio Loyalty Points. PlaySpan’s technology will help power payments for these goods.

Hello Kitty is no doubt a popular brand when it comes to electronics and other merchandise, so it should be interesting to see how the company’s foray into social gaming works out.

Japanese camera maker Exemode announced [JP] the Hello Kitty DV520KT today, a simple 5MP CMOS camcorder that only has one thing going for it: it features mega-popular cartoon cat Hello Kitty saying “Hi” on the hardware. That’s what it probably makes perfect for young girls though.

Technically, buyers get a camcorder that records video in either 640 × 320 or 480 × 240 resolution and at 30fps or 15fps (so don’t expect huge picture quality) on SD or SDHC cards (up to 8GB). There’s also a 2-inch TFT LCD screen, 32MB of built-in memory, LED light, and a USB 1.1 port. Users can upload pictures and videos from the camera directly to Flickr and YouTube.

The camera, which is powered by two AAA batteries, will come with a price tag of $90 when it comes out in Japan on June 25. Ask import/export specialist Geek Stuff 4 U if you live outside this country but want to make your little sister happy.

It’s not the first Hello Kitty TV out there, but this new Toshiba TV is perhaps the one with the most discreet design. Announced [JP] today, the Hello Kitty 19A800KT is a 19-inch LCD TV that sports the cartoon cat on both the device itself and the remote controller. But that’s not all.

In addition, a Hello Kitty will pop up on the screen every time you mute the TV or change channels (see picture below). Technically, we have an HD TV (1,366×768 resolution) from Toshiba’s REGZA line with 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 2x3W speakers and 2 HDMI ports.

The Hello Kitty TV will go on sale in Japan on February 5 for $700. Needless to say, the device is Japan-only at this point.

Hello Kitty, dream cartoon cat of millions of teenage girls and women around the world, gets another portable music player. We had a device fully covered with Swarovski cystals in October last year. We had another one, all in black, in December. And today, Japan-based Mouse Computer, in cooperation with iriver Japan, announced [JP] a player that’s kind of the combination of the two previous ones.

The so-called Hello Kitty Music Player Premium DX is based on Mouse Computer’s black Hello Kitty player from December. But this time, there will be two versions: one featuring Kitty’s trademark ribbon and one featuring a cute flower (instead of the ribbon). Both the ribbon and the flower will be covered with Swarovski crystals. Mouse Computer says the ribbon will be covered with 70, while the flower will be covered with 50 stones.

The player comes with 4GB of internal memory (enough for 960 MP3 or WMA files), and at 45.2×35.5×18.0mm, it’s really tiny (weight: 16g). You’ll also get earphones and a cute USB cable (see above) to connect it to your Windows PC (Macs aren’t supported).

Hello Kitty, the dream cartoon cat of millions of teenage girls around the world, regularly gets a lot of love from the gadget world, too. But Hello Kitty TVs were relatively scarce so far. Last time we blogged about one was in June 2008. While that one was pretty cute by itself, this new model announced today [JP], a 13.3-inch LCD TV, is much, much cuter (at least in my view).

The device is made by a Japanese company called Dynaconnective and, if anyone from the target group cares, has the following specs:

• 1,280×800 resolution
• 275cd/m2 luminance
• 500:1 contrast ratio
• 16ms response time
• 3Wx2 stereo speakers

The TV can show Kitty’s face as a background picture for enhanced cuteness. This is the remote. It’s shaped like Kitty’s ribbon. Isn’t that adorable?

Sized at 414mm×372mm×149mm, the Hello Kitty TV weighs 2.3kg. Dynaconnective plans to start selling it in Japan on December 24 for $560. The TV isn’t suitable for anyone living outside Japan unfortunately, as it’s optimized for the Japanese TV system, has Japanese only menus etc.

The Hello Kitty Music Player Crystal, made in cooperation with luxury brand Swarovski, I blogged about in October drew the attention of quite a few (mostly female) CrunchGear readers. One of the problems was the price: $150 for a fairly basic music player isn’t cheap. But now Japan-based Mouse Computer, in cooperation with iriver Japan, is offering a similar device. And their so-called Hello Kitty Music Player Premium [JP] is less expensive.

The device comes with 4GB of internal memory (the Swarovski model had just 2GB), which – according to Mouse Computer – should be enough for around 960 songs. It weighs 16g and is sized: 45.2×17.0×35.5mm. You can connect it to your PC (Windows only) via a cute USB cable (pictured above) that’s included in the price. The player supports MP3 and WMA files.

Hello Kitty is 35 years old now, and she still continues to be the dream cartoon cat of millions of teenage girls. If you’re one of these people and have a penchant for gadgets on top of that, this new and strictly limited music player might be the right thing for you. The so-called Hello Kitty Music Player Crystal [JP] is the result of a cooperation between iriver Japan, Hello Kitty company Sanrio and luxury brand Swarovski Crystal.

The player is sized at 47.2×18.0×37.5mm, weighs 19g and comes with 300 of Swarovski crystals that just boost the cuteness a little more. It features 2GB of storage, which is enough for around 480 songs and can play MP3 and WMA files. It supports Windows PC only (via USB 2.0).

The player is Japan-only and will cost $150 when it goes on sale (exclusively online) on October 30. I suggest you contact the Japan Trend Shop, Geek Stuff 4 U or Rinkya in case you live outside Japan and you’re interested in getting one.

Japan is heaven on earth for fans of cute gadgets. In the case of mega-popular cartoon cat Hello Kitty, the country offers Kitty-branded notebooks, USB flash drives, a ventilator and even a photo printer. And today, major Japanese telecommunications company SoftBank announced another Hello Kitty gadget, the PhotoVision HW001 KT [JP] (a digital photo frame).

The device supports JPEG/GIF/BMP files, features a 7-inch touchscreen (800×480 resolution), 384MB of internal memory, an SDHC/SD memory card slot and is able to receive MMS sent from SoftBank handsets. On the front, it says “Itty Bitty, Kind And Pretty, The Cat’s Meow, It’s Hello Kitty”.

So far, so cute, but you need to live in Japan and sign a contract with SoftBank in order to lay your hands on the frame (which will be released in this country on Friday).

Sanrio, the company behind the dream of millions of teenage girls around the world, cartoon cat Hello Kitty, is to celebrate the cat’s 35th birthday on November 1st. Reason enough to team up with design USB flash drive maker Mimoco and give us the Hello Kitty X Mimobot, quite possibly the cutest USB stick out there.

The USB drive you can see above is actually just the first in a series of Sanrio-branded Mimoco drives, which will store between 2GB and 16GB of your data.

The dream of millions of teenage girls around the world, Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, gets yet another notebook in Japan. This time, the cartoon cat is supposed to boost sales of an Epson model, the Endeavor NJ2150 in “pearl white”. It will be available in two different versions.

The standard version comes with a Celeron 900 processor (2.2GHz), 1GB Ram and an 80GB HDD (price: $1,350). The high-spec Hello Kitty notebook is equipped with a Core 2 Duo P8700 processor (2.53GHz), 2GB of RAM and a 160 GB HDD (price $1,650). Both models feature a 15.4-inch screen, 5 USB 2.0 ports, a 3-in1- card reader, IEEE 1394/IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN and Windows Vista Home Premium.

In addition to the super-cute design of the hardware itself, you’ll also get a Hello Kitty screensaver and wall papers (which you could have downloaded anywhere on the web anyway). The notebooks will be sold from July 17, but they’re available only in Sanrio’s Japanese online store and a few Hello Kitty shops in Tokyo.
