It seems like only yesterday that T-Mobile BlackBerry users were being treated to the Curve 8900 when they were feeling Bold 9000 envy. But alas, the glory would be short lived as it has reached the end of its life cycle. We’re sad to see it go, but we won’t miss it too much. After all, the trackpad equipped Curve 8520 and Bold 9700 are so attractively priced right now that the 8900 was relegated to being the small fish in a big pond. So farewell! Thou art too dear for our possessing.

What was once rumored is now fact. AT&T will indeed get the BlackBerry Curve 8900 sometime in the “early summer.” The price still hasn’t been revealed, but it can’t be much more than what other BlackBerrys go for.

And yeah, it looks just like T-Mobile’s 8900, which, again, isn’t a bad thing.

AT&T is throwing in a few bonuses, though. Should you sign up for an unlimited data, AT&T will give you free AT&T Wi-Fi access at its 20,000 or so locations. (Remeber: the 8900 supports 802.11 b/g.) So that’s neat!

Other than that, it’s the same thing you’d expect: it’s a “world phone,” so you can use it overseas (but mind the roaming charges—best to just find a local SIM while you’re abroad); built-in GPS with AT&T Navigator turn-by-turn directions; support for microSD/SDHC memory cards up to 32GB; and so on. It’s a BlackBerry, you know what you’re getting.

Good news, CrackBerry fans. (See what I did there?) It looks like the 8900, which is currently running wild on T-Mobile, will make its way to AT&T this June. That’s the “word on the street,” at least, which this wonderful photo illustrates.

Essentially a BlackBerry Bold Lite, the Javelin’s missing 3G, and has a slightly smaller keyboard, slower processor, and a bit less boom in the speaker department. It’s not all a downgrade, however; the screen is slightly higher-res (480×360 vs 480×320), and the camera has been bumped from 2-megapixels to 3.2. If you’re looking to pinch some pennies (though only about $20 bucks worth) on a Bold and don’t mind being stuck with GSM/EDGE, the Javelin should do you well. Expect to walk out the door with one for $179.99 on a 3-year contract.

BlackBerry via CrackBerry

Zee Germans get the first crack at the BlackBerry 8900, to which RIM has added the Curve moniker. It’s very similar to the BlackBerry Bold, but only has EDGE (instead of 3G). That, and its camera is one notch higher than the Cruve’s 2-megapixel one, coming in at 3.2 megapixels with flash. Fancy man.

It’s scheduled to ship this month for €5 ($6.27) with a two-year contract. Or, you can buy one without any contract at all for €320 ($451).

Someone, either AT&T or T-Mobile (or both) will probably bring it over here, too.

Research in Motion has a couple of more handsets that aren’t out just yet. CrackBerry got their hands on the upcoming Curve 2 – formally known as the Javelin. Think of the phone as a toned down Bold, notibly lacking 3G wireless and featuring a smaller bezel.
