Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Might’ve Just Leaked. Here Are The Photos

Supposed Galaxy S6 Photos

With just a few days left before Samsung’s announcement of the Galaxy S6 at Mobile World Congress, it looks like photos of the device — or at least one version of it — have leaked.

Side

Word around the rumor mill suggests the S6 will come in two forms: one with a curved edge like the Galaxy Note Edge (or, quite possibly, curves on both edges of the screen), and one with a more traditional flat body. If legit, these leaks are obviously of the latter.

Face Dimensions

Note the cutesie watermarks. These marks, added by the leaker, are presumably being used to cover potentially identifiable bits of the photo.

Face

Alas, the leaker hasn’t yet snapped a shot of the device powered on.

Rear

Note the “Not For Sale” stamp on the back (which looks more shiny/plasticky here than it actually is due to a protective film, which you can see partially pulled away at the top right.)

According to the original leaker, the back plate on this device is not removable.

Barcode

If you look closely, you’ll note the barcode up near the top. As CLARiiON and duykhang524 of XDADevs point out, these barcodes are often used on early engineering prototypes — suggesting the device pictured might not be quite finished.

Sim Slot

Looks like this is the SIM slot and the power button.

Rumors had suggested that the Galaxy S6 would be Samsung’s first real time using metal for the body/rear of the device over plastic/faux-leather. These pics seem to support that.

Bottom

One end of the device. Looks a bit… Apple-y. Those rubber bands are, presumably, for the sake of the antenna/radio. Radio waves don’t play very friendly with all-metal devices.

Real? Fake? These photos match up with a lot of what we’ve heard to date, so it seems reasonable that this is at least an engineering prototype. We’ll find out for sure on March 1st, when Samsung is expected to officially announce the S6. [Photos via user reefer on XDADevelopers]
