Snapchat Update Lets You Switch Between Front And Rear Cameras For Videos

Snapchat just introduced an update that will let you switch between the front-facing camera and rear-facing camera while recording a snap.

Users have long been able to switch between the front- and rear-facing cameras for still photos, but switching mid-video was impossible. Instead users had to turn the phone around to film themselves or their friends.

It’s a small feature update — Snapchat hasn’t mentioned it on their blog or Twitter — but it’s a useful one.

The whole point of Snapchat is to share what you’re doing in the moment, with built-in ephemerality making that experience of digital sharing a bit more special. But before the ability to switch between cameras, Snapchat videos were mostly limited to one point of view.

With this update, users will be able to show their friends and Story followers every part of an experience.

If you want to download the update, head over to the App Store.
