Watch Microsoft’s Build 2014 Keynote Here

Microsoft is kicking off its Build developer conference today. This is the second year in a row Microsoft has hosted this event in San Francisco. Last year, all eyes were on Windows 8.1, and this year, we expect to hear more about the first major update to Windows 8.1, as well as more about Microsoft’s plans for Windows Phone. This being a developer conference, chances are Microsoft will also want to talk about its Azure cloud computing platform and its various developer tools, including Visual Studio and .NET.

Some of the rumors ahead of the event also pointed at a sneak peek of Windows 9, but we are not sure that will actually happen. It also remains to be seen if Microsoft plans to unveil the touch-enabled versions of its Office productivity apps for the Windows Metro interface today, which doesn’t seem all that unlikely, given that it launched Office for iPad last week.

You can follow the keynote here. Sadly, it doesn’t look like we can embed Microsoft’s live stream.

The event is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
