Vevo Will Live Stream The iTunes Music Festival On iOS, Apple TV And Mac

Vevo announced this morning it will begin streaming the iTunes Festival at SXSW starting today, going through Saturday, March 15th, for users of the Vevo iOS and Apple TV applications, as well as Mac users via the Safari web browser. The concerts will be available in real-time, allowing those not in Austin to experience what’s arguably one of the better parts of the entire SXSW event.

For those under a rock unfamiliar, the iTunes Festival features several big names, including Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Pitbull, Keith Urban, and others. (Vevo has the full line up here).

The company tells us that the live streaming is in partnership with Apple, which, until now, had held its iTunes Festival in London. This is the first year that the concert series has come to the U.S., and Apple earlier in March updated its official iTunes Festival native application with a revamped icon, refreshed interface, and details on the performers and show.

That official app will also offer live streaming alongside Vevo, in addition to things like artist bios, photos, and links to albums in iTunes.

Vevo says its live streams will work in theĀ 13 countries where Vevo’s apps are available: the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, U.K.
