Applications Are Now Open For The Battlefield NY, The “World Series Of Startup Competitions”

Following an exciting start to the year at CES, we at TechCrunch are busy gearing up for our largest east coast spectacle of the year, Disrupt NYCBattlefield applications are open now through February 20th. We’re looking for the coolest, most innovative and dare I say it, disruptive, companies to launch with us on-stage in NYC.

Why apply? Aside from launching on the most visible stage in tech, a cash prize of $50,000 and our Disrupt Cup, our Battlefield teams get a lot more behind the scenes to be pumped about. For starters, companies receive coaching from our staff and some of the best minds in the industry (SequoiaEarlyBird Capital and the VegasTechFund to name a few) to ensure their pitches knock the socks off our judges.

At Disrupt, they’ll receive a free booth in the Battlefield section of startup alley to network their way to glory and the opportunity to rub elbows with our speakers and judges at VIP events.

Participating teams can also look forward to future perks like tickets to Disrupt conferences, VIP access at our meet-ups and of course TechCrunch swag.

Bre Pettis also provided a free Makerbot for our Hardware Battlefield at CES so you never know what might happen.

Rules

To compete in the Startup Battlefield, at time of application submission startups must be live for less than three months.

In selecting final contestants, we will give heavy preference to companies that launch for the first time to the public and press at TechCrunch Disrupt. We consider new products from existing companies to be significant. Due to the limited number of competition slots on stage, companies launching new feature sets do not qualify as launch companies. The competition will take place in NYC, but teams around the globe are welcome to submit their startups for consideration.

Companies that have presented at other public launch events are not eligible for Startup Battlefield. If you’re choosing between launch platforms and need an early decision, please apply and email us at battlefield@beta.techcrunch.com and we’ll priority review your application.
