Meet The Winners From The TechCrunch Seattle Meetup

If you weren’t in Seattle last week for our TechCrunch meetup, we’ve got the pitches from the winners for your viewing pleasure in the video above. StowThat, RedRide and Pigeonews took the top-three prizes from a field of 18 companies that gave one-minute pitches to our judges before an audience of about 900 people at the famous Showbox Theater.

StowThat rocked it with the top prize and will get the chance to participate in the Startup Alley at TechCrunch Disrupt next month in San Francisco. The company calls itself the Airbnb for self-storage. It offers a service that allows people to rent out their garages for those who need self-storage for their Darth Vader figurine collection and such.

RedRide won the audience award for its app, which aggregates data from car sharing services and presents which cars are closest and the cost of the ride. They call it a Kayak.com for riders. I see a new market coming that compares costs of sharing services. Hmm…

Pigeonews received the runner-up prize for its discovery engine that contains a news aggregator, RSS feed-discovery service, search engine and filters. It’s positioning itself as a replacement for Google Reader.

All the companies will get tickets to TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco in September. Join us in San Diego August 22 for our next meetup.
