autobutler, a startup which enables users to compare prices and services across car garages, has secured seed capital from London-based investment fund Dawn Capital. Joining them is serial entrepreneur and multi-millionaire Jesper Buch, an investor in restaurant portal Just Eat. Buch joins the board. In March the secured capital from JL Ventures. Autobutler plans to use the undisclosed funding – although we understand it’s in the £500,000 ballpark – to scale up into 10 more countries in the next three years from their original home base in Denmark.

Norman Fiore, managing partner at Dawn Capital says: “Autobutler is attacking an established value chain in a truly disruptive way. Having dominated their domestic market, we are looking forward to working with autobutler’s outstanding team to roll out their proposition across Europe”

Autobutler’s founders, Christian Legêne and Peter Michael Oxholm Zigler, launched its international expansion in Sweden last month, picking up over 105 garages. Norway, the UK, Germany and Holland are next in line.

Buch has experience taking Just Eat 14 countries cross Europe. He says: “The growth they have shown and the product that they offer today prove that they are destined for success.”

Some 820 garages are currently linked to autobutler right now handling 50,000 quote requests from car-owners in the Nordic region so far.

    Website: autobutler.dk
    Launch Date: April 4, 2010

Autobutler.dk is a Danish online service where car-owners make requests for quotes on their repairs and service - directly from the mechanics. Users describe what they need to get done on their car and where in the country they are willing to drive. Mechanics in that zone will then see the job in their lead-list and are able to bid on the job. After a repair or service is carried out, users can share ratings on the mechanic.
