“New And Improved” Hulu Plus For PlayStation 3 Is Faster And Easier To Navigate

If you’re even a casual gamer, you know that video game systems and platforms have come a long way in the past twenty years. I’m old, so I remember rockin’ out to the Atari 2600, enjoying each and every pixel that passed by on my little TV.

Those days are over, and video game systems like Xbox and PlayStation 3 let you enjoy more than just games, including social networking and multimedia content. Hulu Plus has been available on Sony’s PlayStation 3 for the past two years, and has launched a new redesigned experience that should make PS3 owners very happy.

Here’s what Hulu had to say on its blog about the massive update:

We’ve implemented a tray-style format that allows you to scroll through recommendations based on your viewing history, or check out popular shows and movies, the top 100 clips on Hulu Plus, movie trailers and more.

We’ve included a “Shows You Watch” feature that highlights the content you regularly enjoy and lets you jump straight to the latest episode.

In addition to some of these UI changes, Hulu Plus has upgraded its search experience for PS3 as well. Now when you search for something, the clips show up right on the screen, allowing you to jump right into an episode or teaser:

Again, if you’re even a casual gamer that uses your PS3 to watch Blu-Ray movies, the $7.99 for Hulu Plus isn’t that big of a deal. The fact that it’s now easier to navigate makes the spend a no-brainer.

I really hope that this experience comes to Xbox soon, but this new look is PS3 only for now.
