“So I pay… to eat with strangers? And I don’t even pick my food? …Why would I do this?”

The idea behind GrubWithUs can seem strange at first — but once you’ve had your first meal with them, everything just sort of clicks. You pay, you sit, you eat, you meet people, and you leave. They handle all of the annoying bits (the check splitting, the tipping, the … finding people for you to eat with) and you handle the eating. Easy.

Making things even easier, GrubWithUs has just launched a shiny new iPhone app. Emphasis on “shiny”.

The app seems to do just about everything you’d generally do through GrubWithUs’ full-blown site, from perusing available meals to coughing out directions to meals you’ve already purchased. Plus, the app is really darn pretty — pretty enough, in fact, that I’ll probably end up using the app more than the site (which actually says quite a bit, given that the site itself was already quite well done.)
