Companies have touted edgeless displays for years. But they weren’t edgeless in the sense that the display didn’t have an edge. But here’s Gateway, Acer’s budget brand, rocking what is likely the slimmest bezel in a retail notebook to date. Yep, Gateway. The budget cow computer company.

The 14-inch 1366 x 768 display does edge-to-edge glass in what would normally be a 13.3-inch chassis. The $700 package includes a Core i5-2410M CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD and integrated HD 3000 graphics. Spend $800 and you’ll ditch the integrated graphics for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M GPU with Optimus. Both come with that sexy screen, USB 3.0 and an optical drive, though. Interested? The press release states the ID47 is available starting today, but I can’t find it on Gateway’s website nor any retailers. Expect it shortly.
