So maybe RIM’s initial foray into the tablet arena wasn’t as mind-blowing as the company would’ve liked, but it’s nothing a few updates can’t fix, right? Well, maybe not, but that’ll be up to existing BlackBerry PlayBook owners, who should be seeing the OTA update hit their tablets any minute now.

The update should bring enhancements to the PlayBook’s Facebook app, including video uploads, message deletion, access to Pages, and the ability to choose photo albums when uploading images. Plus, new PlayBooks with the update will have the Facebook app pre-loaded, no installation necessary. The update will also include in-app payment capabilities, language support, improved video chat connectivity, automatic Wi-Fi hotspot detection, and some charging improvements.
