Milo is completely owned in all comments, the consensus was always there about him. Even if all the comments are quasi anonymous. This unwarranted big up to a former employee is a bit s***. I think Silicon Valley bank have a London office specifically for this. Even though the big deals seem to be going to bulge bracket banks. Other big names in Valley VC like Accel and Sequoia all have London bases. Not sure if these offices are focused on the internationalisation strategy of their portfolio companies but the staff all seem to be investment principles looking for opportunities.

Mike - this is a very poorly researched piece. The reason this "cyber - fakir" is staying tight lipped about the project is because he has absolutely no idea how to run this operation.
Did it not occur to you at any stage whilst you were writing this piece that it was strange that a person with no record to speak of in the world of business & finance could somehow claim to be some kind of guru on the subject?

If you'd heard the real word on the "London Streets" about Milo Wagner-Yiannopolos/Yiannopoulos and his previous so-called ventures, perhaps you would not have been so keen to plug this Hipster project.

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. Yiannopoulos has never actually had a start-up or worked for a start-up. He's been to the US a couple of time on holiday. He's never lived there. So what exactly is this "controversial" journalist actually bringing to the table?

He has no university degree and his claim to fame as far as anyone can tell amounts to his salacious twitter comments and ability to randomly pick virtual fights via twitter.

Last I checked getting drunk and doing drugs with entrepreneurs did not make you an expert on success anywhere...and most cdrtianly not in the dragon's den. What qualifications exactly does he have to shepherd anyone through the silicon valley experience when he's never lived here and never actually had a company? I expect better journalism from Tech Crunch, this is a clear case giving a former employee an ego boost which is entirely undeserved. Mike you should be ashamed.

This reminds me of the dotcom bubble of ten years ago. I remember only too well how self-publicists would try to turn their contacts book into quick money. I'm not saying that is what this guy Yiannopoulos is doing, but I would have thought any experienced angel investor would be wary. He reminds me of one or two characters from back then, none of whom survived the crash. Less experienced people are vulnerable, but that's where the internet and threads like this one are so handy. Due diligence is no longer a major piece of detective work.
