Watched the show after reading this blog and thought that was pretty amusing but massively inaccurate. Lord Sugar claimed that task showed how easy it was to access global market and make money from apps, but it just showed how hard it was. 10,000 free downloads is pretty poor result given all the resources and access they had. (And heard they didn’t get anywhere near the claimed 10k figure either)

It was so inaccurate that made us write a blog on it too!

Was it not made explicitly clear at the start of the program that the teams would be judged by several well known publications, with each one choosing which team they preferred and then publicising them? Pretty obvious that some free advertising went the way of three ‘key Tech players’ in exchange. So not so much smelling a rat as giving a hungry cat a cooked kipper.

Why not use a decent browser and useful sites instead considering the cost of use instead? What Applications are a genuinely useful alternative if you cannot already connect to the internet anyway?

Unlikely you’d turn down the free advertising on the Beeb during prime time on one the most watched and reported on shows on it’s schedule though, regardless of the bilge you had to deal with! Eh? Eh! You should have turned the opportunity to be on the show down on the principle of my Hewlett Packard printer breaking down in 2001 whilst three days outside of warranty.Though why you didn’t at least say something relating to either team as to why they thought their app would be useful or as a novelty with longevity to people when soundboards are already well known enough is surprising. More remarkable (or depressing) is that both teams came up with the same banal idea. Why not *cough, cough, gets ready for the big pitch*:’Broken Britain – an app for that informs you exactly how Broken the area of Britain you are currently in is, i.e., the amount or lack of faith/Toby Young schools/academies, GP/Toby Young ran health authorities, non-Conservalib councils, Tescos, availability of WiFi enabled avocado pasta sauce serving shitholes for shitehawks like you who download this shit are in your current vicinity.’50p a pop for two days, then your phone explodes and takes you, along with all your contacts, with it. Bargain.

Would you not prefer one of the three brought back into the boardroom to hastily employ Jack Sparrow make-up (tangled long hair and twice-twizzled chin beard should suffice), clamber upon Suralurn’s desk to stand aloof and ahoy with arms outstretched before Michael Bolton-ising aloud the almighty cry of, “Davy Jones! Giant Squid!”.

Regardless of the above, it’s a poxy show.

Hi. I absolutely loved The Apprentice show about App development as it is so here and now (except for Lord Sugar giving the task on a rubbish laptop).
There is a great blog about a company called JamPot (www.jampot.ie) that developed both App’s for FREE on all stores in 5 minutes (makes the whole process of how wrong they got the App Development)..

This allowed me to download them and just see for real why AMPI APPS won, I thought SLANGATANG would win but after playing with both it is obvious AMPI APPS is far better.

Love the look of total scathing disbelief on your face in that video
still….. I was amazed
that they just came in with a couple card board posters when I watched
the programme. I was also disappointed that having been given a chance
like that the one they had, with all those resources & contacts at
thier disposal, the limit of their creativity
came down to unamusing animal sounds and even less convincing regional
accents … So Mike, when can some of the very many excellent early
stage start ups on here next have the opportunity to pitch to you / Tech Crunch
like that?

I was as mute as you watching the show on the night when they presented the Apps.

Apparently the groups lacked someone with grounded IT background (despite the guy who claimed he knew IT). Even though the show is about driving profits the App ideas didn’t impress the slightest . I thought the least idea they could have brought up is an App to locate the nearest macdonalds branch which will drive more downloads and sales rather than a stereotypical “slangatang” aimed to be “funny” or a buzzing noise App in the cinema.

I wrote on my wall “Alan Sugar could have called me to judge today” hoping he saw it – haha
