Ownership is but half of the problem. Even if you own a picture, if someone else uses it without attribution or authorization, provided you even know about it (which you probably won’t), all that’s left is legal recourse… but is it worth the time & hassle?

At Picuous users get to keep full ownership of their pictures and only grant us what we need to operate the service. But at least as interesting is the SoundCloud/Scribd/Vimeo aspect of being able to offer your pictures up for embedding so that they’re always correctly attributed and link back to you.
