While it’s no 1 million iPads in one month, Samsung has sold 600,000 Galaxy Tabs in its first 30 days, a noble effort. I’m a fan of the device – it’s a little thick for my taste, especially with the 7-inch screen, but it’s very sturdy and probably one of the best Android tablets out there – so I’m glad they’re selling at least half a million this month.
Samsung, for the record, is optimistic:
“We believe tablet PCs will take over a bigger portion of the market next year,” Samsung’s mobile division head Shin Jong-kyun said at the IFA gadget expo in Berlin in September. “For this year, we’re projecting to sell up to 1 million units.”
