Toshiba in Japan has announced [JP] their first Android cell phone today, the Regza T-01C (Regza is also the brandname for the company’s flat panel TVs). Big T says they used the “Mobile Regza Engine 3.0″ for the phone’s touchscreen, which is sized at four inches and features 480×854 resolution.

  • Android 2.2
  • 12.2MP camera with AF and 720p video recording
  • waterproof body (IPX5/7)
  • GSM
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • e-wallet function (Felica)
  • Wi-Fi
  • microSDHC slot (32GB max)
  • digital TV tuner

Toshiba says they will start offering the phone (through Japan’s biggest mobile carrier NTT Docomo) at the beginning of next year (price: $370). No word on international availability.
