• Video: Canon Shows Off Cross Media Station Device That Charges Camera Via Induction

    Is this magic? That’s my cute way of opening the discussion of the Canon Cross Media Station. It’s an inductive charging station. That means you put your camera right on top of the thing and it charges. Fun!

    The electrons flow in the other direction, too. Not only will it charge your camera (up to three, by the way), but it’ll transfer your photos to a nearby TV. (The TV being connected to the Cross Media Station via an HDMI cable.)

    It’s important to keep in mind that the device is still a good two to three years away from seeing a commercial release; this little guy on video is merely a prototype.
