iSites Raises $1 Million For Mobile App Development Platform

iSites, a service that allows web publishers to quickly build applications for the iPhone and Android platforms, has raised $1 million in funding led by Inventus Capital Partners with Quest Venture Partners, Dougery Ventures, Manish Chandra and other angel investors participating in the round. ISites, which launched in January, helps publishers create simple mobile apps with RSS feeds, logos, graphics, and more. The beauty of the service is that iSites handles the submission process, and also provides analytics on how your app is performing in the Android Market and App Store.

Today, iSites is also launching a new product, called Instant App, which allows publishers to easily create a mobile web-optimized app. The apps are built using HTML5, and Webtoolkit, and promise to provide a native experience.

iSites co-founder Raju Sagiraju says that all of the native experience of an Android or iPhone app is provided with Instant’s web app, including transitions, user experience, and features. For example publishers can add RR feeds and pull in feeds from services like Twitter into the mobile app. Publishers can also distribute the app with a vanity url and monetize via mobile ads.

The mobile web service costs $10 per month (or $100 per year); and $50 for native app creation on the iPhone or Android platforms. iSites faces competition from AppMakr, Mobile Roadie, and many others.
