Huge, huge news. Probably the biggest news since London found out Napoleon actually lost at Waterloo. Ready? OK, here we go: RIM has filed for a trademark. The trademark? SurfBook. What could this mean?

Probably that RIM is looking to make a tablet PC. Unfortunately for RIM, the only tablet-like device that matters, for better or worse, is the iPad. (If I see one more device described as an “iPad killer”…) Such is life.

Well, to be fair, the trademark filing—done in Canada, naturally—doesn’t indicate anything about the device.
