One line in Google’s latest blog post should hearten those who are suffering righteously with the problem of Google Docs iPad and Android compatability. The post by Dave Girouard of Google Enterprise closed with:

Second, today we demonstrated new mobile editing capabilities for Google Docs on the Android platform and the iPad. In the next few weeks, co-workers around the world will soon be able to co-edit files simultaneously from an even wider array of devices.

This is actually excellent news: there is no really useful editing suite on the iPad right now and even Pages is quite crippled when it comes to important things like footnotes and some font and image features. To be able to use Docs to store and manage files on the cloud is quite a dream come true and should add considerable value to the iPad and Android for workers on the go.
