Now that the Interweb is all about the new Apple TV barely anyone pays attention to anything else (maybe to the Roku). Toshiba just outed the StorE TV+, a media drive that connects to your TV, has a 2TB HDD, wireless n and 10/100 Ethernet. This device has a small LCD on the front so you can see what’s happening without having to turn on your TV set.
The StorE TV+ (who came up with that name?) supports a wide range of formats, like Ogg and Flac audio and MPEG 1, 2, 4, H.264, VC-1 codecs, AVI, WMV, MKV, MOV and MP4 for video playback. The only format that’s missing is Divx and Xvid. I wonder what’s the reason for that.
The StorE TV+ will be available in September for £200 ($307).
