PayPal Really Going After Micropayments

More micro than this, actually

If you’ve paid any attention to micropayments, the closest we’ve ever really gotten has been the various MP3 stores from iTunes, Amazon, and a like. And, let’s face it, 99 cents isn’t quite micro. PayPal is thinking, then, about allowing minuscule payments like 49 cents and even a few pennies.

This isn’t amazing news, but it should be an interesting way to grab a quick revenue stream from DLC and electronic gifting. This could also be a way to sell content online, although once you add a pay wall I could actually see mirrored websites pirating content behind the wall. It’s a mad, mad world.
