Today at our Social Currency CrunchUp (which is currently being livestreamed here), Blekko founder and CEO Rich Skrenta gave the first live demo of the startup’s innovative search engine (be sure to check out our initial review). To mark the occasion, Blekko is giving out an invite to 500 lucky TechCrunch readers — just be one of the first people to email a message requesting an invite to techcrunch@blekko.com.

I sent in a request as well, though what I have requested I have yet to learn. I suppose it has to do with the excitement that comes with being a part of something new, even a little part. I’m not sure blekko offers anything that will yield the company any exceptional market share, but my perspective is just as another’s, an opinion. I’ll have to keep an eye on them – just in case.

Sent in my email (hopefully in time). I think Blekko does have some potential, and I’d love to see how it works compared to Google

Very interesting to view results from more points of view. But there I think that if you have a subject about the press, there are different points of view depending by what newspaper you read. How do you toggle between newspapers, and on other subject like technology how you change the toggling to togle between companies points of view like Apple and Microsoft, for example?

The name sounds like a retch (‘blecch!’). The logo looks like it was designed by a 10 year-old. And the idea that you need to learn some hashtag Jedi mind trick before you can use the thing…well, guys, nice to have met you on your way to the deadpool.

I don’t see the point of slash tags. I always find what I’m looking for with Google without them…
