lol.. its crap. I am shocked this is still active. This game is kept alive by multi-account holders who have figured out how to use proxys and MAC spoofing. Look folks - for the price of buying WoW and playing for 3 months, you can get - well, not really much of anything. You can get enough gold to click the highest training multiplier and maybe buy a couple of companies and afford to hire a few employees for a couple of months. (I know - sounds like mad fun, no?) You can buy a few weapons and fight in a few wars. Well.. Not really - you click a little button that says "fight". If you want to take advantage of the social media aspect, you can have your pick of the litter of 14 yr olds, frat boys, and racists. I am surprised that no legitimate game reviewer has said - "This is crap" - maybe that's because no legitimate gaming resources acknowledge this as a game.

Bottom line - visit if you like. there's not much to see but it is a pretty well done site from a UI perspective. They have an eerily similar feel to facebook - not sure if that's completely by accident. Probably isn't. All tolled, its pretty ineffective at keeping a person interested. I'd love to see metrics on how many of those 1.8 million users are either dead or banned multi-accounts. I'm willing to bet eRepublik Labs won't actually release that!

@alexis bonte, If your still reading these (God knows you dont answer twitters or emails after providing your contact information to us for "Feedback")

The War module is a dismal failure. Being coded in flash its easily hit with a form of DDoS attacks and the Admins are powerless to stop it. They claim they have fixed it but 5 minutes and an open battle proves they have done nothing of the sort. Its still just as buggy and still just as crashable (I.e. Turn Denials for defenders via modified Flash DDoS).

The Economic module is utter trash. Back before "Rising" a person got paid a daily wage based upon their skill which ONLY came from working. The more you worked, the better you were at your job. Now the market is in the toilet because not only were skills migrated POORLY, but you can train up skills for other jobs. You are now paid hourly and let me tell you, as someone who used to make 45 in game cash a day I now am lucky to get paid 1 dollar per hour for working.

The game is full of bugs Alexis and your development team doesnt know how to fix them properly. The last 2 weeks in the game have been ruled by hackers who have broken your pathetic attempt at security and continue to start wars/cause disruptions all over the game. The disruptions dont get fixed in any set way or on a decent enough timeline.

Hell the development team/admins cant even figure out how to re-enable Captcha at regestration which has lead to some 400k accounts being made just to farm materials and gold or win wars/elections.

I honestly hope your still reading these alexis bonte because its becoming clear that your administration and development staff are lapsing back into their 2 year norm of ignoring or abusing the end user. The Survey was a nice touch but then the results were skewed to attempt to sell a bogus product to a crowd of people who gave nothing but honesty about how bad the game was and got "The players like the game".

If you do not fix the bugs/modules I suspect more people will leave for eJahan or vNations and less and less will ever even hear the name eRepublik in anything but a bad light (I.e. eRepublik is horrid, stay away from it)

this was left by a prominent eCitizen IN GAME!!!

-------------------------------------------------

Good Evening to Alexis and the citizens of eRepublik.

For Alexis and others who may not know me, I'm CrowdedHouse, a soon to be former paying customer of the game we know as eRepublik.

Alexis, tonight from my home here in real life Melbourne, Australia, I will outline what I loved about this game, my commitment to it and wear you went off the rails.

This is in response to the interviews you gave as eRepublik CEO HERE and HERE

May I first outline my commitment to the game that I did have....

1) I was the first person in eRepublik (at least eAustralia) to create a professional news podcast. This podcast featured interviews, news and even ads! Yes, eRepublik Ads in a podcast!

2) I also created the first english language 24 hour eRepublik Internet Radio Station. I was paying with my own real life dollars to create something that had hourly eRepublik news, music and shows.

Both the above projects would end up ceasing as I did not have enough volunteer support (or monetary support from eRepublik) to keep them going.

3) I was a PAYING customer. I use to buy gold to help promote my articles, set up companies for the party I was in and on occasions fund others tanking in battles.

However your poor customer service let me down in the end... I shall explain shortly.

This Open Letter is on behalf of ALL the fed up players in eAustralia that are leaving the game.

It will pick through your recent interviews and explain why we the players are angry with you.

Trust me Alexis, I know how to see through spin... after-all I work in PR in Real Life and use to work in radio before that (and yes there will be grammar errors, I've just finished a long day at work).

Let's start with your quotes from Free MMO Station...

...eRepublik is a multiplayer strategy game world and we think it is so appealing to players because 100% of the game-play is based on their interaction with other citizens...

That sir is incorrect. Since the release of eRepublik Rising a fair % now depends on purchasing gold from eRepublik. As seen in the Military Module, to really have any effect on the battlefield, a player requires boosters. These boosters are purchased from eRepublik, thus gold being taken out of the market place. No interaction with another player is required here.

...Social interaction is part of the game’s DNA and many goals within the game cannot be achieved without the help and collaboration of other citizens...

I ask 'what collaboration with citizens'? I and many others were not asked if we would like V2 instead of V1. The numbers clearly show many long-term players are now leaving the game because you changed it from what it used to be. Why ruin a good thing, when all you needed to do was listen to the players about fixing bugs?

We will keep listening to our citizens in order to evolve and provide them with the best game experience.

You have rarely listened to the citizens. The citizens said 'fix the bugs', but you ignored us and continued with building V2. One of your ultimate failures was the Battle (bug) of Western Australia. Despite Video, Screen Cap and Data proof, you ignored the players and created a grey area with the stupid 'it ain't over til the fat lady sings' rule.

eRepublik Rising provides users with more tools to change and rewrite the course of history in the New World... ...They have received the new version with enthusiasm and it is yet too early to know their reaction.

Sir, the criticism of eRepublik Rising has been damning. You'll notice less open letters on the forum, simple because everyone is giving up. You have made eRepublik too time consuming with all the added extras. You have forgotten the KISS philosophy Keep It Simple Stupid

We have given so much importance to players feedback and involvement because a game can only be as big and good as its community of players, that is what is making eRepublik so good

What makes eRepublik so good is the players and the off-site forums. The staff of eRepublik have proven to lack customer service and the understanding of what players want.
I ask, why not run eRepublik V1 and Rising at the same time, allowing players to choose the game they wish to play?
You have FORCED players into eRepublik Rising, and at the moment Alexis, they are giving you the middle finger salute.

Let's now see what was said in the Tech Crunch Europe interview/article...

...boasts 1.8 million registered users....

The question is, how many of them are illegal mutli accounts? The ones that players are complaining about, over and over again? The ones that now even fair rule abiding players are considering making because their own country has not been protected by admins.

...According to Bonte, the company polled over 14,000 players...

So 14,000 can make the decision for 1.8 Million? I point out this poll never asked if players would prefer to play Rising or V1 - so a classic case of PR Spin Fail.

...Rising allows users to decide exactly how the game will evolve...

Are you seriously kidding? You have not listened to the players on most occasions, so why now?
Players are complaining are your greedy gold grab and how the game takes longer to play, but still you do nothing except put out a pathetic Q & A insider. You have not learned.

Alexis, let me explain how this game has rapidly gone downhill in the past 2 months for the citizens of eAustralia.

Back in May there was 5 solid candidates running for Country President (Prime Minister) of the nation. There was excellent debate going on about leadership and what style of leader the country needed. Australia in a political, economical and recruiting sense was starting to go places.

THEN came the first serious Indonesian PTO attempt. This forced Australians to back one candidate only to save the country. It succeeded but since then the PTO kept on coming.

First few times a number of Indonesian Multi Accounts were banned... then later a similar and stronger number were not. What annoyed Australians is you did not explain your decisions. You did not point out any evidence of why these accounts in the PTO were different from the last.

Thus we lost our country without any genuine answer... we were screwed like the whole Western Australia battle bug all over again.

We hung on for version 2, but once we saw Rising was a money sucking game, players started jumping ship left right and centre.

Alexis, you must remember that eAustralians have been some of your most loyal players since the game started. We were dealt a raw deal early, our country was invaded and we had to wait for the RW feature to start trying to get our land back.

We had a bigger neighbour in our backyard and not much way around them (unlike the multiple options other countries had).

Finally, eRepublik Insider rarely acknowledged eAustralia - despite regaining our territory after a record 18 month enemy occupation and leading the defence it what was at the time the biggest battle in eRepublik History (the famous Battle Bug of Western Australia), not a word was written about us.

So now eAustralians... especially me are putting away our dollar and looking for a different game.

You have a very short space of time (a few days) to win us back and stop us leaving.

Australian money you'll no longer be seeing

This Open Letter will be placed in the forums for you to sign.

I ask players PLEASE not to report this article, as its my third last as I leave the game and I don't want the ban yet because of my next article. (maybe someone can make a back-up in case it gets deleted)

My next article (2nd last in the game) will be me saying goodbye to all my eRepublik friends and thanking them for the good times.

I would like to acknowledge, pjcosta1969, Skyra and Golgavar for donating funds to help me promote my last few articles - more gold or ads linking to my final articles would be nice

To the eRepublik players - maintain the rage against Alexis Bonte... remember it's our time and it's our money that make this game.

Good Evening to Alexis and the citizens of eRepublik.

For Alexis and others who may not know me, I’m CrowdedHouse, a soon to be former paying customer of the game we know as eRepublik.

Alexis, tonight from my home here in real life Melbourne, Australia, I will outline what I loved about this game, my commitment to it and wear you went off the rails.

This is in response to the interviews you gave as eRepublik CEO HERE and HERE

May I first outline my commitment to the game that I did have….

I'm about to turn one year old in eRep and about to dump it...

After about 9 months of spending up to 12 hours a day via my phone and computer haunting it, building friends ships etc I deployed to the RL war zone... I even had friends take care of me while I was abroad so my character would live...

Then I come back to find out that all the hard work, dedication etc all boiled down to streamlined money grabbing and a total lack of QA.

Damn you eRep. You really did wreck a good thing.
