I've had the original Xbox for about 2 years now and it has red-ringed once on me. Also, I only have 20GB of storage. :( and 4.5GB left from all the Rock Band songs I've bought (I work in an office and we use my account Himself0890) I have about 160 downloaded songs and am running out of space. I need this device for many reasons:
A.) Be the cool kid on the block by being the first with the new Xbox
B.) Put my old Xbox [red eye :( ] under the microscope and be able to freely tinker with it at will, without having to ever worry about putting it successfully back together again :-)
C.) Sport the TechCrunch T-Shirt at work (will take pictures for proof).

I want this Xbox 360 so that I can write a blog post on how creating and designing video games help fuel entrepreneurial spirit at a very early age in the young generation and at the same time, playing video games reduces entrepreneurial abilities and if there is a balance in video games. Plus I will also be writing about how video games are going to change how chores are done at home, like dish washing and laundry. To some it may be a complete BS but it definitely will be a complete twist compared to what you read in the blogosphere and elsewhere.

I think I deserve the xbox because I literally have gone through nine of them in 3 years. (At least all but 1 were covered under warranty.) I even had one get hot enough to melt the back plastic, power cord and scorch the wooden stand it was on.

Two, this coming semester, im living with 3 girls and 1 other guy. Now i know what your thinking, "how can that be bad?" Techcrunch come on there is at least a thousand ways. Hanging out with them, maybe fun, but LIVING? Itll be awful. Imagine if they start menstruating together. Ill have to sleep on the sidewalk for nights. Itll be like coming back to class only to be greeted by a t-rex of womanhood. Thats TERRIFYING.

Now how can my 360 help? Kinect. duh. Set them up in front of that thing and just let them go. ESPECIALLY the workout ones. Itll be like bubblewrap. Ill use viva pinata or something to hold out for kinect. Itll be perfect Ill be able to distract them long enough to sneak in and grab pillows for my sidewalk bed.

I worked all summer out in the prairies to afford my first Xbox. Even sold my Dreamcast. Literally worked at a carnival betting people they couldn't knock over 3 cups to win $20. But it was worth it and I got to play Halo. Something about it blew me away, probably the sight-seeing since the only other 3D shooter I'd played was Golden Eye. Out on that desolate rings planet, not knowing what was around each massive, outdoor corner, the odd bit of com-chatter. Here I'd expected to be walking through narrow corridors, picking up med-kits that spun and floated a few inches above the floor. No matter how long I played, I never stopped being amused by the bump-mapping ("normal mapping"?) that modestly detailed the floors, the ice, the sleeping grunts hunch-back life-support units. I would love to play Reach or ODST this summer, but I'm trying to save up just enough money to move two hours away to where I'll be going to college this September. Please, Tech Crunch, may I have the Xbox.

This xbox360 must be mine because I have several xbox360 games that my cousin left me before he went to college. Since I'm more of an Computer gamer , I didn't actually ask to borrow or take his xbox360 – when he left. Ever since that day, (a month ago) I've been regretting not taking his xbox360. Recently , I got banned in one of my most addicting games. I felt destroyed and looked back onto the games my cousin gave me – Call of Duty 4 , Resident Evil 5 , GTA IV , and a lot more of the shooting based games. I don't want to give the games away because that'll be a waste yet I don't want them to rust and get smothered with dust. I don't want to sound like a begger but I think I am… sorry if I sounded like one.

I deserve this so I can play online games with my friends.

Since the kids have basically hijacked the Nintendo Wii, I'm left with knock hockey (the original wood version – not a digital one) or trying to hide somewhere to play my original Pong game alone. I haven't updated my gaming system since sometime in the 90s. Seriously. I think it's a mix of just laziness and contentness, but I've been playing SNES (NBA Jam, Zelda, Bomberman and Mario Kart mostly) for the past 10+ years. This would finally be the kick in the butt I need to play real games on my (pretty new) flat screen.

The only two video game consoles that I've ever owned were a Colecovision and a Nintendo (yeah – the original). I'd love to see what a modern system is like.

I currently feel that I bath too often. Obsessively playing the new Xbox 360 will give me just the excuse I need to suspend my bathing routine and allow my natural odor to resolve both that pesky "having-too-many-Friends" and the irritating "being-invited-to-too-many-meetings-at-work" problems. I am hopeful that this will resolve the "nagging-wife" problem but that may be too much to ask of any game console.

Hmm… It has to do with the fact that I don't a game console, never have… or a thin tv (all I have is an old tube-type), or a computer with more than 2 cores and 2GB of ram, or Windows 7(I run XP), or digital cable, or a working DVD or BluRay player, or a Smartphone(You guessed it, LG flip-phone), or a data plan. All I do is rebuild junk computers and hope they run something. Yeah, an xbox would be very nice:)

I want it because I'm signing up for a metric crap ton of free stuff today and this is, by far, the best item. This Xbox 360 must be mine because my 12 year old boy needs it to fit in with his friends. I won't buy him anything Microsoft, so he suffers socially with his PS3, while all his friends play Call of Duty Modern Warfare on their Xboxes. I fear my dislike for Microsoft is causing him permanent social damage, and his future could be at risk.

Well my original xbox 360 broke and I took it apart so I wasn't eligible for the warranty. I've wanted the new one since it was released. I sure wish I could take it off your hands!

So I just upgraded to a 42" HDTV from 25", finally got up to date and purchased all the good recent xbox 360 games out there: AC2, BFBC2, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Borderlands, Rock Band 2, etc. And boom my first gen xbox 360 JUST gave out on me yesterday (can you imagine?! it was still soldiering on). To make matters worse, I am holding a welcome back party for my girlfriend who's been away to China the whole spring/summer, and invitees have been asking me if I was gonna have a Rock Band competition like I did at the last party. So you get my drift, this xbox 360 would be a lifesaver.

My last video game system was a SNES… I would love to have the new XBox 360.

I’m sure this’ll be one of many pout-lipped sob stories about deserving an xbox, but here goes. Fall before last, after wanting a 360 since its release in ye olde days I was finally able to get one, and it was glorious. I was knee-deep in Mirror’s Edge, Bioshock, Fable 2 ecstasy. Six months later my apartment was burglarized and every valuable electronic device I owned was taken, including my poor 360. I hardly knew ye, xbox. D: Since then I’ve resumed life as a shameful 360-less putz.

I'd love to be the new owner of this sweet XBox 360. I offloaded my gaming consoles to needy friends about seven years ago and have been satisfying my gaming needs by playing with new friends I made at school. Now that school is over, I'm headed back to Alaska with no job lined up yet (but I know one is coming soon) and a $2000/month loan payment (to be deferred, and adjusted for income, obviously). I'm expecting a new little one in the fall, and I'm positive that my next opportunity to purchase an Xbox will come in about two or three years. Why should I deseeve this new Xbox 360? Well, when my family moved, the kids Xbox was dropped by the irresponsible movers that we hired. I couldnt possibly afford to buy another one right now, and my children have been so depressed that they refuse to eat at the dinner table with the rest of the family. So wouldn’t you please bless me and my family with this gift?

I've never actually owned a game station, but have owned computers for two decades and have always looked at these things skeptically, but wanted to one day try it in the home. If that's good enough of a reason, then I'm the man.

I want this XB360 because I am learning Python. I heard it is a language that works best on Microsoft-made computers.

I truly deserve this Xbox 360 console for several reasons:

1. My parents never bought me a game console when I was a kid (no Atari, no nintendo, nothing).
2. My parents did buy me a lame Commodore Vic 20 (yes a Vic 20, not even a 64) and 1, yes only 1, game that involved shooting an alien ship by using the keys on the keyboard — uber lame.

Therefore the gaming portion of my adult brain is completely undeveloped and yet I don't think it's too late to start exercising it. So please, please TechCrunch, help me develop and unleash the gamer inside of me.

I would love to have it! We are about to start looking at outfitting a youth center for our church and this would be an excellent addition to the game room! We are in a rural area where the kids have little to do in the summer/after school besides go home alone or go do other things that are not good for them and get them in trouble. I have been known to use consoles in very creative ways, and usually in ways that are benificial to the world. Thus far I have managed to stop 6 nuclear meltdowns, 8 alien invasions, rescued 12 Japanese sushi chefs, and rescued at least 126 puppies (and hey who doesn't like puppies?). I have even managed to find a cure for the common cold, but alas that information is forever locked on a red-ringed 360.

I am a true console fan. I have the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Genesis, PS One, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3. I was reluctant to purchase a Xbox or Xbox 360 because there were only a few games I truly felt would be worth the money in playing. I should receive the new xbox 360 because ive been rocking the original xbox for as long as I can remember. Pathetic as it may sound I still get down on a game of madden 05 (when it works!!!) and have lost many friends in the process who have left to hang with more technologically advanced acquaintances of mine. I just kind of feel like im in the stone age and if my wife is gonna nag me about playing video games all the time I would much rather tune her out while playing the newest and best games than plug my ears while im sticking a butter knife in my disk drive just to switch games cuz the graphics on gta san andreas send my hoopty flying through the “sky” when the entire city has mysteriously disappeared from my television screen. I’ve been trying so hard to get one of those, but never succeeded. I live in Russia, Ryazan – and here all such gadgets are highly overpriced (( an xbox like this would normally cost more than 600$ which is simply ridiculous. To get one shipped from somewhere else would cost like 40$ which is not that bad, yet you are to pay a customs fee and even after doing so you should not expect to have it soon, as they may consider you are planning to start some sort of commercial activity selling the item you ordered ((( regretfully, we are still too ‘soviet’ and I do not personally see any remedy for this type of ailment yet… As a gift, there’s no way it can be considered to be a commercial item, thus it will not be stopped or returned to the sender…. Thank you in advance, you are the best.

I have a 4 year old and we have no game consoles in the house. All we do is sit on the couch on the weekends and stare at each other and perhaps throw the occasional sock at the 1 year old. Entertainment much change.

My gaming generation was born under the sign of the Sega Genisis. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Disney’s Alladin were some of my favorite games. Slowly yet surely I developed into a teenager. A teenager who demanded faster speeds and more exciting games. Not long thereafter, the N64 came out; an excitement that didn’t last long. On the dawn of a new year an xbox was given to me. Halo wad the most amazing gaming experience I could have imagined at the time. Countless hours were spent in front of the old cathode ray tube in the basement until my butt was sore and it was time for dinner. It took until my sophomore year of college (a long time to save up and buy the 360 granted it was releasedy junior year of high school) and I received an xbox 360 halo version. A gift that cannot be measured in terms of it’s use, the happiness it brought, or the amazing images it displayed on my new Vizio HD tv. It’s now my senior year of college. I’m thousands of dollars in debt, and have only one year left to continue my long term debt into grad. school. Literally within the last week, for the first time, I’ve contracted the deadly ring of death virus on my 360. With no gaming system, but an array of accessories, a new tv, and some of the best games hitting the market this fourth quarter (fable 3, star wars the force unleashed 2 etc..) I can’t imagine my life without an xbox. What on earth am I going to do with an hour between classes in a crappy apartment with nothing but myself, a tv, and no cable if I don’t have an xbox?? Not to say PS3 isn’t great.. but I can’t just switch to the dark side when I’ve put so much time, energy, and money into this system. I’m devoted, I’m desperate, and I need this xbox. I and couple of my friends bought an old PS2 by pooling in some money and the deal is that everyone of us gets to keep the PS2 for a month. It is really hard for me to wait 2 months for my turn. If you give me this XBOX it would solve a huge problem for me. I hope I get it :). Fingers crossed.

Honestly,

I don’t deserve this XBox, I have done nothing of real value to earn it and for the most part I am sure that many others deserve it much more then me.

I am simply in hard times and as many others wake up to a pile of games that I can no longer play.

So, one would suppose that its hope that compels me perhaps just like the others, hope that one day I will be able to proudly renew my xbox live membership again, and get smacked talked by jobless preteen and teens.
