Backupify Rolls Out Customized Google Apps Tool To Back Up Data From The Cloud

Backupify, a startup that provides online backup, archiving and export services for cloud-based social media and SaaS data, is rolling out its application for Google Apps. This will allow any Google Apps users to backup all data stored in their Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Contact and Sites accounts.

Designed for SMBs using Google Apps, Backupify uses AWS to provide daily backups of data. IT Administrators can either download backups to a user’s PC as well as access to stored data through the web. Backupify for Google Apps is priced at three levels based on storage and number of accounts, ranging from $10 per month to $60 per month.

In addition to the new Google Apps offering, Backupify also provides backup and storage for all major social media platforms including Facebook, Flickr and Twitter. The application will keep all the raw data for you and creates a downloadable PDF with, for instance, all your Tweets, direct messages, followers, people you follow, and profile info.

In a world where more and more businesses are looking to use cloud-based productivity tools like Google Apps, Backupify is a cost-effective solution to ensure that data is safe and able to be recovered from the cloud. Launched last year, the startup just raised $900,000 in funding led by First Round Capital with General Catalyst, Betaworks and angel investors Chris Sacca, Jason Calacanis, Andy Swan, and Bob Saunders participating.
