Cloud based accounting service FreeAgent has secured a deal with IRIS, the UK’s largest privately owned software provider, to power its new IRIS OpenBooks product. It’s the first time FreeAgent has licensed its software.

IRIS claims 50 percent (14,000) of the UK’s accountancy practices as customers.

FreeAgent launched in 2007 and now says it has 2500 subscribers

IRIS OpenBooks integrates directly with the existing IRIS Practice Suite of software and enables accountants to connect in real-time with their clients’ accounting data.
