Boom! We woke up this morning to a handful of e-mails in our tips inbox, all saying the same thing: the Droid Eris should be getting Android 2.1 beginning tomorrow, according to an internal memo sent out to select Verizon retail employees.

Pics or it didn’t happen, right? As it just so happens, one of the tipsters was nice enough to grab a shot of the memo for the lovely folks at home.

According to the note, the Android 2.1 update is “tentatively scheduled” (shaky word choice there, given how many delays we’ve seen with the Sprint Hero/Moment updates) to begin tomorrow, going on to warn that customers should back up their goods before firing off the update process.

[Thank you, C. and Don!]
