I like recent products that let users created personal FAQs one step at a time based on questions from others. You put up a box that invites people to ask you anything. People then ask questions. You answer the ones you want to and publish them. In no time you’ve got an interesting profile of your personality, likes and dislikes.
We wrote about Formspring in January, and Tumblr launched Ask Me a few days later. Now comes ChaCha.me, a new product from ChaCha, where people and businesses can ask and answer questions.
ChaCha.me has good integration with Facebook and Twitter right off the bat, and they’ll allow question asking and answering through their mobile apps and SMS (something ChaCha does well already). But ChaCha is also partnering with celebrities to get them to use the service right away. ChaCha thinks the product is a perfect way for celebrities to talk to fans.
They’re starting things off with 2010 Grammy winner David Guetta – his page will launch later on Monday but users are already lining up the questions. If you’re willing to step things down a few notches you can see my ChaCha page here, and I’ve already answered a few of the questions.
Lots more features are coming in the next couple of weeks, says ChaCha. Among the changes – 15 million or so listed U.S. businesses in ChaCha will have the Q&A feature added to their profiles and will be able to answer questions from users.
ChaCha thinks celebrities and businesses will feel safe using ChaCha.me because they only have to answer the questions they like and they can stay in control of the discussion.
And ChaCha users will be able to integrate the Q&A feature directly into their Facebook pages as well. ChaCha already lets users ask their friends questions on Facebook. The new feature turns that around and lets friends ask you questions, too.

I like this, seems like a move ChaCha have been planning a long time ago. Good move.
This is a great new addition to ChaCha’s services. It ties in well with the “Ask a Friend” feature on Facebook and like you said, will now allow my friends to come and find out more about me. Can’t wait to see more integration with ChaCha.me and ChaCha’s other services.
Yay ChaCha! I love working for ChaCha and this is so cool now I can have my own page. Since I answer questions already this would be more fun since it’s questions to me about me.
i do like it better since i can have more pictures and stuff. didn’t know who david guetta was until i went to chacha’s page. pretty neat
ChaCha is a good acquisition target of Google and makes a natural fit if combined with Aardvark to support GOOG’s mobile web strategy. Will be not surprise to see GOOG acquiring ChaCha within the next 12 months. Still can’t wait to see how much ChaCha can fetch giving Aardvark’s price tag is $50m.
still can’t believe aardvark sold out! hopefully chacha does not follow
If it has search advertising value you can bet Google is on the hunt- Like ChaCha biz model-
So David Guetta will actually be answering questions? Very neat. I wonder what other celebrities will join in and answer questions from people.
This is good, needs a little improving but it’s good.
Its like a red version of formspring but better.
Way to go chacha!!!
While the same thing can be done via Twitter, I like this better as with a large stream your questions can be lost. Here the questions show in an Inbox for the person to answer when they can instead of flying by the screen never to be seen again.
I noticed trouble using ChaCha.me in Chrome – I can’t click the follow button – but I can in IE. Looks like if they want to be acquired by Google, they better at least make it compatible on Chrome. Anyone else have this problem?
I had same problem. Looks like alphaware, although not too shabby overall.
Chrome is working now.
Chrome is working fine for me!.
@Bryan,
We noticed that last night. It’s on the short list of things to get done as soon as possible.
Doug
Looks good
Good domain,easy to remember
agreed, the domain is no prob to remember!
chacha is not a yelp and yelp is not a chacha.
maybe this will appreciate the value of the dot .me extension. yelp.me
Good addition. Useful!
A thoughtful entrepreneur should see how a couple of relatively straightforward web / database applications linked to Formspring.me / ChaCha.me could blow the traditional quantitative market research / survey industry wide open.
Very Cool ChaCha! Love to see new things being added!
Seems like a good strategy if they can get celebrities involved right away.
I find it very interesting that Formspring.me and ChaCha.me are both based in Indianapolis.
I think it’s hilarious FormSpring’s and ChaCha’s offices are less than 10 miles away from each other in Indianapolis. I guess this town just isn’t small enough for one personal FAQ service.
Have you not notice the Formspring is moving?
@Joel Ditto…
I hope Formspring and ChaCha worked on this together or Jones just did a bad bad thing. btw – Jones is/was a Formspring.me user…
David Guetta is really answering questions on ChaCha.me right now!
I like the idea to spread stuff over other platforms and get the people interacted with. Here is an open-source-concept for a Twitter game. A Collaboration between Twitter and a Q&A platform.

Just a random note about ChaCha…recently a lot of my friends that I told about the service have been requested to answer four questions BEFORE receiving an answer….
Needless to say it is quite a deterrent to using a service that is supposed to be the definition of convenience.
cha cha..lol
The site looks awesome, can’t wait to get started! Keep up the excellent work ChaCha! =D
Company still sucks
Cool feature, added it to facebook and pretty fun results, especially with a few wicked friends.
This is one of the best posts that I’ve ever seen; you may include some more ideas in the same theme.
I’m still waiting for some interesting thoughts from your side in your next post!!!
