TiVo has long been limited to just a few countries, but that’s set to change thanks to a new agreement between the DVR company and Conax, a Norwegian content security supplier. The deal has the potential to reach over 100 million potential TiVo customers, spanning 80 countries. This could be big.

TiVo has signed on to provide Conax with a DVB-complient set-top box, although it’s not clear if that would simply be a modified Series4 unit. But Conax seems excited to offer their European customers the vast range of multimedia options that TiVo offers. More details are surely going to drop over the coming weeks, but our European readers probably should get too excited just yet. It might take some time for TiVo to hit their shelfs. Deals like this take time.
