Last fall, TechCrunch50 startup ClientShow presented its innovative application to help creative, advertising and marketing professionals show, pitch, share and sell their work to clients more effectively through real-time collaboration and communication. Similar to a WebEx for creative professionals, ClientShow allows users to essentially create a “virtual agency” to collaborate and share ideas with clients. This week, the startup is debuting its platform in private beta. We have 1000 invites for Techcrunch readers here.
The application, which is built on Adobe Air, includes a dashboard which lets the agency view client lists, projects and pitch sessions at a single glance. The dashboard acts as an organizational launching pad, where you can see attached notes and images about upcoming pitches and a schedule of sessions. The second feature is a “work” section which actually lets you set up and prepare for the sessions. You can drag and drop your files into the application, where you can view the projects.
To engage in a virtual “pitch,”clients are given a link that lets them view the session in their browser. While the users who are pitching the idea are using an Adobe Air application, the client will see the actual pitch within their browser. Here’s where ClientShow brings in the collaboration angle: as you are pitching an idea, decision makers on a client team can approve (or dismiss) different ideas and files and give feedback automatically by adding notes and comments to the pitch that are updated in realtime.
After a pitch has ended, users will want to look back on clients’ comments and feedback, which is where the fourth part of ClientShow’s software comes in. The “vault” captures and stores all interactive feedback from sessions. You can also see session reports”in the vault that shows you every file that was documented in the presentation in the order they were presented.
The entire application is free, but ClientShow will be monetizing by offering a paid version that includes additional premium features. The startup has raised $750,000 in funding so far from undisclosed angel investors and will be launching the application to the public in the next two months.
Of course, my one complaint about the application is that it is built off of Adobe Air which is buggy and has other problematic issues. However, the realtime collaboration functionality of the application is compelling. The ability to create threaded discussions around a pitch and collaborate easily is sure to be useful to the creative industries.

great tool, we should
use on http://www.joballee.de
Thanks for the link to their beta … is there a Tech Crunch promo code to use for the 1000 free invites?
Thanks!
When is international roll – out ?
The current version of the app will be available internationally once we launch our Public Beta, which we are planning for March.
I’m sure we’ll be using it, also…
Another one I’ve found useful is ConceptShare – http://www.conceptshare.com.
I don’t see an invite mechanism on the signup link…
Well, the TC article put them out of business…TC, i think u should provide some info about the usual amount of traffic an article will send a startup and a framework of the sort of server they’ll need to handle the load. I think a lot of people use an EC2 instance, a rackspace/slicehost virtual server, etc. Maybe the startup needs 2 rackspace virtual servers of a certain side with a load balancer. A little bit of research and tests would give you a minimum and maximum setup the startup must be running. And of course you’d just provide that info to each startup before you cover them.
link is down, bad marketing tech, what invitations are u talking about
I lost interest at Adobe Air.
I am shocked at all this Adobe Air hate.
We were going to use it for an add on to our FTP client.
Now I have to do research and re-evaluate that.
Boy, I’m glad we used Java!
Adobe Air is a fine product – ignore the microsoft/apple sycophants and go with it.
1000 invites for TC readers? Really? I followed the link and filled out the form, then received a “Thanks, we’re in Beta, we’ll let you know when it’s ready” email.
Sorry about the website being down earlier and the confusion about the invites.
Please go to: http://clientshow.com/signup.htm
under the pulldown menu select “TechCrunch” and below enter the promo code: TC1
Thanks!
Can’t wait :)
Hi Rich, I registered two accounts, one is with TC1 as promo code, but I don’t see any different, I didn’t receive any download links or some thing else.
We are sending out confirmations now and will send out registration/download links in the next few days.
I wonder if they are going to make HORRIBLE commercials like the ones currently being shown on T.V.
I don’t mean to come across all negative – not having used the product yet – but I fail to see the revolution here.
I would not dream to pitch anything to a new client remotely. That way bankruptcy lies.
People do business not with people who offer the best possible solution on a computer screen, people do business with people they like and trust in person. As far as I can tell, and again I might change my line once I’ve seen the product, there is no way for real time, face to face communication to be integrated into this.
Once a personal relationship has been established, showing work remotely is not an issue, but for that we already have established solutions like 39signals. In our company for example we use a hand-knitted WordPress setup and Skype, but people use all sorts of solutions.
Well, off to sign off and see if I have to eat my hat.
“my one complaint about the application is that it is built off of Adobe Air” ??
You can’t be a developer and say this. You are ignorant. Adobe AIR is wonderful!!!
If it’s buggy, its the developer’s fault! Adobe has done wonders… AIR 2.0 may well be the standard for Hybrid Applications.
I could not agree with you more. That last comment about AIR was pathetic. AIR is one of the best runtimes for creating slick x-platform desktop apps. The BBC switched to AIR from Java and have had massive success.
Developing applications using an ActionScript based front end (and sensible n-tier architecture) means that developers can build browser based applications, desktop based apps and, if they get Flash CS5 right iPhone and iPad apps. Of course there is screen resolution and multi-touch to think about but no other development platform is close to offering that sort of efficeiency in terms of sharing your code base.
I love TechCrunch but that was a dumb comment.
I currently use ConceptShare and love it. The screen shots from ClientShow seem to be focused on Social Media. ConceptShere continually upgrades it’ s app and seems to be light years ahead of ClientShow.
I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but the screenshots look slick. I’ll check it out when it launches to see if it has any advantages over what we’re using right now.
Charity. Hello! I raise money for charity for poor, hungry and requiring. I ask you to help me with this question. Льва Толстого, д. 16 ; КПП 770401001)
F*ck off!
@Article, it’s IMO a little lame that you let people wait for months on your waiting list and then hand-out tokens through TC…
Leena,
Can you please be more specific about what you mean when you say “Adobe Air which is buggy and has other problematic issues”?
I am building an AIR application myself, one which may very well end up in your hands at some point, and I’d like to know specifically what you mean so I can look out for what you’re talking about.
Great article. There is a lot of good information here, though I did want to let you know something – I am running Redhat with the latest beta of Firefox, and the look and feel of your blog is kind of bizarre for me. I can read the articles, but the navigation doesnt function so great.
