These boots are a smart idea. I don’t know if they’re $200 smart but that’s Hammacher Schlemmer’s problem, I guess. They’re standard-looking leather boots that feature reversible cleats on the underside. So wear them outside in the winter and when it gets really icy, deploy the spikes for a nice non-slip grip.
According to the product description:
“Two sets of tempered steel-studded cleats–one in the forefoot with 11 studs and one in the heel with five studs–are set flush with the sole such that when the cleats are reversed, only the rubber tread will make contact with floors or carpets.”
The boots are available in whole sizes from 7-13 and feature wool lining.
