No sooner do I write up TwittLink, then do I continue on down my list of sites to check out today and hit TBUZZ, arguably an even easier and faster way to share sites on Twitter. Whereas with TwittLink, a site owner has to install a bit of JavaScript in their site’s header, TBUZZ works solely through a bookmarklet.
If you simply go to this page and drag the bookmarklet into your browser’s toolbar, you’re ready to go. When you’re on a page you want to share, you simply click on the bookmarklet, and a Twitter app overlay will appear. Once you authenticate yourself via OAuth, you’re set to start tweeting.
What’s nice about TBUZZ is that a short Bit.ly link is pre-populated for you in the window, and then you simply write whatever else you want about the page you’re on. If you highlight certain text before hitting the bookmarklet, it will also pre-populate that text in your tweet window.
A potentially really nice feature is that below the “Tweet” area in this overlay is the “Buzz” area. Here you will find what others are saying about this page. Sadly, it appears to be missing quite a few tweets about shared pages, but this could be intentional to filter out noise (tweets that simply retweet a page).
Unlike TwittLink, you can’t see other users who have tweeted directly about that site from the site. Nor can you see your main stream of tweets from other users you follow. But the Buzz element may be more interesting anyway, as it will undoubtedly have data that is more relevent to you. Of course, TwittLink still has the advantage of all users on your site having access to it versus only those that have the TBUZZ bookmarklet installed. TBUZZ easily has the nicer UI, though.
Pick you poison; lots of new options to tweet as quickly as possible from your own site today.

TBUZZ – An Arc90 Project from Arc90 on Vimeo.

looks like a great product but how do they make money
They don’t
Thanks for the writeup, MG! We’re really proud of our lab projects and glad you enjoy them.
@silvaldropout: Arc90 doesn’t make money off of our lab projects like TBUZZ and Readability. We’re a full service web shop based in NYC, working for clients as well as on our own products. We release things like this for fun and PR.
Looks like a pretty neat tool! I came across an excellent Twitter Search Engine that is unlike any others I have seen. Twuugle
It incorporates the power of google but is specific to Twitter and one of the best Twitter tools for targeted Niche Research that I have found. All the results are from Twitter.
Unlike other Twitter Search Sites Twuugle is free from all the noise and enables you to hone
in on specifics. Very simple but powerful.
Apparently they have quite a few releases planned that will be incorporating things like Twitter’s planned release of the geolocator, Twitter apps and more.
I am liking it!
All the Best. Fantastic Article….seems there is too much too keep up with these days.

Can we talk about something other than Twitter and Twitter service companies? Give it a rest.
Been using TBuzz for awhile and think it’s about the handiest way to share pages and articles on Twitter since by the time you activate it, it has already shortened the URL + anything that you’ve highlighted in the page is copied to the tweet in quotes. It’s done by the same folks that have the cool “readability” bookmarklet for reformatting a page to get rid of extraneous info.
@Brett ….lol…I hear ya!
Here is something to talk about. A cool site that has just been launched and getting ready to go into its Marketing Phase
Video Forward
The site that pays you to share video’s. A novel idea and easy to use by anyone who knows how to share vids!
This is a another Video Sharing site…but with a twist. Users can insert their AdSense publisher code in once they become a member and every time the embedd a new video from any site like YouTube the page it is displayed on shows adsense ads. The person who submitted the vid get’s all the credit.
And for those who don’t have an adsense or are not familiar the site has easy to use tutorial video’s that assist users through the process.
Unlike Youtube and all the rest, Users can also insert script for social buttons such as Digg, Tweetme etc. helping make the vids go viral.
The site was created by a well known internet marketer and NY Times best seller.
This is a Reaaally cool site! The only downside is that there is a small fee to join (which is paid yearly) But heck….find one viral video, make a few tweets or posts to facebook and it should pay for itsself!
Not to mention the site pays out 50% to referring members.
Check it out! …….How’s that for talking about something else! Video Forward
All the best!

Seems somewhat related / relevant enough:
Tweeting from a chrome extension: http://mseiler.com/chrome/
I’m loving this service – will this make a next delicious/digger app?
And how do they earn their money?
You may wish to check out BigTweet – http://www.bigtweet.com/
It is also a bookmarklet that offers great ease for sharing links with lots of features:
- Automatically capture web page title, highlighted text and link (which is shortened for you with Bit.ly)
- OAuth support for secure login
- Integrated with Delicious, Ping.fm and Bit.ly (track your link statistics)
- Easily switch between multiple Twitter accounts
- Include all kinds of special character symbols in your tweets.
There is also a BigTweet Button and WordPress Plugin also available.

If you are looking for a really great way of posting to Twitter I would suggest using Friend Feed’s bookmarklet. Not only does it do everything that TBUZZ does, but it also allows you to select up to 3 images with the click of a mouse and send them directly to multiple feeds. Quite honestly, it makes one wonder if TBUZZ just ripped off select features from Friend Feed?
Just use the bit.ly bookmarklet. If you have an account with them, you get full history, and can view your stats for a given link in one click after tweeting. That stats page contains recent Twitter & Friendfeed conversations for that link as well.
Hard to believe that these guys would bother to throw their hat into this crowded ring. DOA.
That’s just exactly what sumtnsumtn.com does.
http://twurl.cja.org.uk also has a bookmarklet and is just as simple, plus it allows you to edit the url once you’ve clicked the bookmarklet.

For an alternate, which can also shorten the text, try http://titlecase.com It comes with a bookmarklet.
