    Where did this rumor that Microsoft wanted to buy EA start? You know what, it doesn’t matter where it started, because it’s not true. No, Microsoft has no plans to buy EA, so don’t sweat the technique ($1 if you get that reference).

    One of Microsoft’s corporate vice-presidents told this to Reuters:

    We have no plans to acquire EA. They remain a very important partner to us. No acquisitions

    Besides, you know if Microsoft bought EA it’d screw it up, just like when it bought Rare back in the day. How well did that turn out? Not as well as people had hoped, that’s for sure. Plus, I’m sure Sony wouldn’t want to lose Madden and FIFA to Microsoft overnight. Those titles are too big to just let go.
